Hi,
Those of you who run 2 tasks on the GPU, how do you manage to get AP tasks to run in the "normal" order ?
I'm running win7 and standard apps ( (opencl_nvidia_100) for AP tasks on GPU). It seems the software is not able to manage the shift from 2 to 1 task on the GPU.
It simply runs 2 SoG tasks as long as there are some, and I have to set NNT and finish all SoG tasks before any AP tasks are run.
Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it...

I'm running win7 and standard apps ( (opencl_nvidia_100) for AP tasks on GPU). It seems the software is not able to manage the shift from 2 to 1 task on the GPU.

The only way it will run 2 ta time is if you've got things setup that way. The default is one at a time.

I use app_config.xml to reserve CPU threads, set the number of WUs to process at a time.
<app_config>
 <app>
  <name>setiathome_v8</name>
  <gpu_versions>
  <gpu_usage>1.00</gpu_usage>
  <cpu_usage>1.00</cpu_usage>
  </gpu_versions>
 </app>
 <app>
  <name>astropulse_v7</name>
  <gpu_versions>
  <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage>
  <cpu_usage>1.0</cpu_usage>
  </gpu_versions>
 </app>
</app_config>

In the astropulse_v7 section changing
<gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage>
to
<gpu_usage>1.0</gpu_usage>
Would result in 1 AP WU being processed at a time on the GPU.

After changing things here, you need to "Options, Read local preferences file" in the BOINC Manager for the changes to take effect (or exit & restart). If you've got those settings in your app_info.xml file, then you will have to exit & restart BOINC for the changes to take effect.
