Noticed this message this morning. Was told to post 30 lines to see if anyone can give me a hand figuring it out.

Missing coprocessor is referring to missing graphics drivers for the gpu app. Likely you got bit by the usual problem of Microsoft updating your graphics drivers with their own incompatible version. I would suggest just going to Nvidia's download site and download the current drivers and installing them directly. That will likely fix your problem. You should normally see the graphics cards listed in the first 30 lines of the Event Log after first startup. Should list the installed Nvidia driver and CUDA capabilities followed by the OpenCL capabilities for each card in the system.

As an aside I would suggest the clean install option.

Another item that can cause missing graphics coprocessor is using fast user switching on a Windows system with multiple user accounts. If you have such a setup make such BOINC is shutdown down on the active user account before switching user accounts.

Yes, but if anyone does a search on the issue, and finds this thread, then all the bases are covered.

After 3 failed window 10 updates to new version and after 6 hours, finally back crunching though had to put back Nvidia driver as I was getting "missing graphics co-processor " and re-load Lunatics, everything running smooth..

Cheers Stephen :))

I don't normally ask for help, but here I need to.

I tried upgrading to 7.10.2, I get the missing coprocessor too, I downloaded 382.33 and 397.93 from Nvidia, I've never used or tried to use a Microsoft version since I do know they can't crunch.
I got the same thing under 376.33, this is under Win 7 Pro x64, while running an Asus 970 Turbo, with BoincTasks 1.75, TThrottle 7.72, so I reverted back to 7.8.3, I did not do a clean install but chose to do an Express Install since that would keep My settings since I have analog speakers and while they have a cold solder joint that has never been fixed, they do work. and I don't have money for Digital speakers.

Under 7.8.3 I have no problems with any of the 3 drivers.

Note: Boinc has no problem running under 0.44 or 0.45, just BT 1.75.

Yes I asked Fred, no response yet.

If that is not enough info on My system I guess someone will have to ask.

If you look around there appear to be a few people who have had much the same sort of problems as you are getting Vic.
One of the reasons I tend to stick with a version I know works is that "If it ain't broke don't fix it" - and changing BOINC version comes under that heading, particularly when working with headless computers as three out my five are.

I've found in the past that doing an "Express" installation of the nVidia drivers gave some very strange, undesirable, results, nad doing a "clean" installation didn't affect things like attached speakers (thank goodness) (Like you I have analogue speakers, but for the reason I can't be bother to replace them, and I think, in the room where they reside, analogue sounds just as good if not better)

Problem solved, Fred fixed the problem after I showed him a few screen grabs, a new version is out, 1.76, for those with BoincTasks, it's time to upgrade to 1.76 and to Boinc 7.10.2.

Only if you're having this problem, if not then continue on as usual.

As in all cases, Your Mileage May Vary (or YMMV for short).

Cheers.
