I am a returning user and reinstalled BOINC and am unsure if program is running. There used to be a screen saver showing when program was running and nothing is happening now.

mine isn't working either. all my data on seti was 100% so I tried adding new project it didn't work. uninstalled seti reinstalled. then I tried adding new project it said enter username password. I put email address in then tried to reset password through email and now the seti reset password email wont open. Something must be really wrong at seti I'm just saying...

its fixed now looks like the interface changed a little bit and threw me off

Yes, its running. You don´t need to wait for the screen saver to come in order to be assured BOINC is running. Just go to the Status bar and see if the icon is still there.

In case the icon is still there and you still feel BOINC is not running, open your Windows "Task manager" and check for the processes. You shall see BOINC in there eating most of your CPU / GPU cycles in case you have set it to run all the time (and not only when screen saver comes in)...my 5 cents.
