A rescue :)

So happy that the worker figured out how to reunite the babies with their mama! When I started reading the news clip, I had a sinking feeling that the story was going to end with the worker taking the babies to some sort of animal rescue place. Thank goodness he realized that the mama was only off getting food and that she would be back for her kits. Good job, human!!!

We have a new skunk visitor to our backyard. He/she??? is small, seems young, and has an exceptionally grand tail.
A better looking skunk I cannot imagine.

Name suggestions?

A friend just pm'd me with the suggestion of Wilfred, so I will post it here with the other suggestions.

Hard to tell if skunks are male or female, unless little ones are trailing behind. Skunks don't stand up on their hind legs like raccoons.

They do on their front paws. But it's a sight I've only seen while targeting a spray release.

All the names are delightful, and thank you, all, for your creativity.

Eric and I discussed it, and our mutual favorite entry is Wilfred. If Wilfred turns out to be a girl, we will change over to Wilfrieda.

We photographed a baby possum last night, so we will need another name.

I'll see if I can get Eric to send me a link to the photo.

You know what, Sue? You are absolutely right!
Samson is a good name for any animal, and an especially good name for this little fellow.
Everyone, please say hello to Samson, Sue's latest godchild!

I'll try to get Eric to take a picture of Wilfred... without getting sprayed!

If that's supposed to be a link, it's not working.

Whoops! Silly me. Sorry about the spelling error.
Sampson is, indeed, a little cutie.

Not a link. Just green for highlighting.
Thought it would be nice if Angela had a kinda official name for the back yard. And this popped up in my head.
