Ivanka Trump’s clothing company will be spared from tariffs, thanks to her dad.
A convenient omission from the administration's threat of costly new tariffs.
https://thinkprogress.org/ivanka-trump-clothing-tariffs-437840f07b83/
A recent report by the Huffington Post found that the president’s daughter and closest adviser rakes in a total of $1.5 million a year from the Trump Organization while still working at the White House.
Her dual role as adviser to the president and private business executive has continuously raised ethical red flags. No one can be entirely sure that public policy by this administration isn’t being driven by business motives, or whether countries may pursue business deals with the Trump family as a means to curry political favor with the administration.
Apparently nepotism is part of the "Art of the Deal"

Why in Washington DC?
Much better to do that march in China.

在行進時喊一些發誓的話肯定會有幫助。

Like this guy?

Once upon a time, we hid gruesome crime images and steamy sex scenes on television from our children.

Now, it’s the president.

Hehe:)
One problem is though that the huge US export of TV shows to Europe and Scandinavian countries in particulary is that we have to endure that cr*ppy language from over there.
I suggest that the EU should put an extra tariff on those TV shows.
Let's start with a 100% tariff.
The name of this extraordinary tariff will be called "The Swear Box".

American businesses are already freaking out about Trump's tariffs
http://www.businessinsider.com/beige-book-trump-tariff-trade-war-with-china-businesses-2018-4?r=US&IR=T&IR=T
The Federal Reserve reported in its latest Beige Book that US businesses are wary of President Donald Trump's new trade policies.
In particular, manufacturers were concerned about the sudden spike in the price of steel and aluminum.
The businesses said the new tariffs were not a drag on activity yet, but could be in the future.

Unless one wishes to live under the economic yoke of the expanding Chinese empire.

How do we stop (edit: or at least slowdown) their economic expansion and control?

Quit importing all their stuff...

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power.

Is the temporary but unavoidable economic 'hit' we would have to endure to protect our workers and our industries in the future politically possible?

Politically possible? Not the way politics is these days... And that is sad.

Everyone is too focused on the short-term, and ignoring the medium and long-term.

Today, the US would have greatly increased the tariffs on steel and aluminum, which would mean several billion kronor for Swedish exports. But the decision has been postponed another month, the White House now announces .
Then the EU will answer if customs duties are raised.
If the United States scraps the exemption, tariffs of 25 percent are imposed on Swedish exports for approximately SEK 4 billion, which corresponds to almost 10 percent of the total Swedish steel export.
The EU has already prepared responses if the United States introduces the new duties. Among other things, penalties for peanut butter, orange juice, bourbon and Harley Davidson motorcycles will be introduced.

Trump Administration Delays Most Tariffs On Steel, Aluminium. (Yes I made sure that a certain word was spelt correctly. :-D )

Cheers.

Strange trade war.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/13/business/trump-vows-to-save-jobs-at-chinas-zte-lost-after-us-sanctions.html/
President Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday that he was working with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to prevent the collapse of the Chinese electronics giant ZTE, which shut down major operations after being sanctioned by the United States Department of Commerce last month.
“Too many jobs in China lost,” Mr. Trump wrote. “Commerce Department has been instructed to get it done!”
And only a week ago phones from ZTE were banned by the Pentagon for national security reason.
Make China Great Again.

Now Trump tweet this.
China and the United States are working well together on trade, but past negotiations have been so one sided in favor of China, for so many years, that it is hard for them to make a deal that benefits both countries. But be cool, it will all work out!
Does this make sense?
