Hi all

Does anyone know if these Clients are supported with boinc?
Because i'm not sure yet about the "ThinOS" System

http://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/thin-and-zero-clients/3040/spd/wyse-3040-thin-client

OS is: Customizable OS Wyse ThinOS or Wyse ThinOS + PCoIP or Wyse ThinLinux

Thank you for your support!

I don't think IT at your work place would be too happy with you running BOINC & Seti there.
From what I have found, the CPU & Memory on the system are purely there to run the OS & it's USB & network connections. It's the server it's connected to that does most of the work- hence it being a Thin Client.

Replacing the thin OS with a lite Linux distribution would allow you to run Seti on it, but given it's CPU, I wouldn't expect too much from it.

Hi Grant

It's not for work i thought maybe for home, but that explains it all.
Thank you very much for the quick response, i thought of something less power consuming, but i will leave my hardcore Desktop to it, much better:)

Best Regards
Marco

If you were to replace the GTX 560Ti with a GTX 1050Ti or GTX1060 3GB the present system would do more work, and use much less power.

GTX 560Ti 220W
GTX 1050Ti 75W
GTX1060 3GB 120W

The GTX 560Ti was a great card in it's day, but the present ones can do a lot more work, and use a lot less power. Although unfortunately with the present Crypto Currency mining boom, finding one at a reasonable price is next to impossible at the moment.
