Yes voting is very important. But having choices to vote for is equally important.
Nearly half of the registered voters were so sick of the choices they didn't vote last election. That is the downside of a two party system.

But that goes for all countries in a democracy. Two party system or more party system.

The down side is the more parties there are the smaller the winning majority is. For me that means fewer folks are deciding our future direction.

I'm expecting the largest turn out at the polls this mid-term than ever before. The sleeping silent majority giant is slowing waking up. It will be all about the Supreme Court. One more conservative judge and we are good for another 30 to 50 years. har...

It gives you a little bit of a feel of what global politics are really about. Take care of the people and they will provide. Simple... I feel you have a better understanding from such simple games. IMHO

Civ seems to be the least bias, rather straight forward, mechanical, mathematical. Politics only goes so far but most are political driven.

I have played a game called Tropico.
The game is tongue-in-cheek in its presentation of semi-democratic banana republics, using a great deal of humor while still referencing such topics as totalitarianism, electoral fraud, and the interventions of powerful companies (United Fruit is implied) and the Cold War superpowers (the United States and Soviet Union).
