Also if there is a mysterious slowdown on a GBT <-> Berkeley data link, I'm wondering if it's being caused by the dreaded post-net-neutrality that was being worried about, depending on who's the link provider. Worth checking if everything else fails I guess.
Eric did post it was Internet2 which is not commercial. Its backbone is supposed to support 8.8Tb/sec. YMMV

Thanks... did not see that. Rather staggering theoretical speed there too,

I hope they resolve the communication issue soon. Or transfer more data to the Google Cloud as intermediary. Based on our past consumption and return rate, we have enough data to last this day out and be empty tomorrow.

Thanks for the insight. I did not realise was 8.8 TB/second that is insanely quick.

Thank you Eric for the insight on the amount of data Matt managed to transfer and for all your other updates and hard work keeping everything running.

Yes. Insane speed. http://broadbandbreakfast.com/2011/03/internet2-upgrades-speed-to-8-8-terabits-per-second/

Us mere mortals don't get that.

Yes, as I predicted, we will run out today. Unfortunately, with the lack of communication from staff, we won't know whether the communication issue is resolved or whether more data is loaded until it shows up on the SSP. And we can't tell if that came down from the normal channel or whether they grabbed it off the Google Cloud server like the last data.

Yup, available work is dropping fast.

Too bad the WU cache/store is also broken, my GPU boxes will run dry within about 4-5 hours.

Thanks for the headsup; at least I won't spend hours trying to chase a bug that I thought was on my side.

Looks like once the 45,000 ready to send work units are sent, we will be out of work again. All of my machines are slow so my cache on each will take a few days to burn thru but the folks with high end GPUs will be idle by morning I'm sure if they don't have a backup project in the queue

And we are out of work for the night. Any bets the staff will find more data for tomorrow?

Nary a peep from staff. Didn't expect any. Any news will come through Jord or Richard.

Let's sit and wait, at least my beer cache is full and it must holds for an entire day.

New data just arrived and the splitting process restarts. Just in Time. Nice.

New data should last 'til tomorrow sometime. Hopefully more is on the way during the night. Kinda wondering if they used a cloud drive method again to get what just showed up tonight.
