I'm 2 days into a 2 week trip to the US and see that my main system is down. I suspect that weather warmed up a bit and the room I moved this machine to got too warm and system was unstable. I probably need to upgrade the CPU waterblock, as the one from EK doesn't have good coverage. Also, auto reboot and restart of BOINC would be good. Anyone have a setup to reboot, auto-login and restart BOINC in linux? GitHub: Ricks-Lab Instagram: ricks_labs |

I am happy with the results I am getting from my XSPC Raystorm Pro CPU waterblock. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I am happy with the results I am getting from my XSPC Raystorm Pro CPU waterblock. Forgot to mention that the coverage issue is a Threadripper specific issue. EK just used their original design which doesn't give good coverage of the multi-die configuration of Threadripper. GitHub: Ricks-Lab Instagram: ricks_labs |

The XSPC Raystorm Neo waterblock (Threadripper) is the highest performing TR block tested so far. The Bykski (hard to find) came very close to the Neo. There are a couple of new entrants since that performance review on the market now that haven't been tested. There was a post on the OC.net ASUS ZE thread of a new block that supposedly performs well, is full coverage, has a dozen colors available and is only $60. Half the price of the XSPC Neo. BARROWCH Looks to be Chinese, so maybe closer to you and easier to get? I have also heard good things about the new Heatkiller TR block that is now available for ordering. Looks like the hosting service for OC.net is undergoing maintenance so that resource isn't available at this time. The original TR water block review was over at HardOCP. The Phanteks Glacier X399 TR block also was supposed to be decent. Just about anything is better that EK. I think I even remember reading that EK has pulled the product from retail and their website because the performance was so poor and they didn't like the bad publicity from reviews and users. It's simple to get the BOINC Client to run automatically at powerup. Just install it as a daemon with an init script. Could do the same with the Manager but only the Client needs to run. Not much use for the Manager if you are not there and out of the country again on a business trip. You can autologin to Debian too. Normally that is one of the installation choices but there is Password & Keys app in the Start menu to configure after the fact.
