Russia will not feature in the 2020 Olympics or 2022 FIFA World Cup after the World Anti-Doping Agency’s historic four-year ban.

Russia has been banned from the 2020 Olympic Games and world championships in a range of sports after the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) ruled to punish it for manipulating laboratory data.

WADA’s executive committee took the decision after it concluded that Moscow had tampered with laboratory data by planting fake evidence and deleting files linked to positive doping tests that could have helped identify drug cheats.

The heavy sanction will see Russia ruled out of next year’s Tokyo Olympics, the 2022 Football World Cup in Qatar and the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing.
They can appeal the decision within 21 days, but it's very unlikely that they'll win in the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Cheers.

Maybe Putin could make a deal with Trump. Perhaps a win/win situation. Just a thought.

Vladimir Putin 'still uses obsolete Windows XP' despite hacking risk

Hehe:) He doesn't. It's disinformation.

Joakim von Braun, an IT security expert who is currently writing a book on Russian disinformation, does not believe the Russian government would use such unsafe IT systems. Instead, he thinks it is about disinformation.
- The Russians are building Russian computers, with Russian operating systems, Russian browsers and so on. And they are throwing everything foreign from the Russian administration and I don't think they want to show how far they have come, says Joakim von Braun.
The Russian propaganda machine makes no mistake, says von Braun. Everything is carefully thought out.
- A large part of what we see in Russia is a neat reflection of what they want us to see. Russia is a world champion on disinformation. They spend billions of dollars each year trying to deceive us both about our own policies and what they think of us.

The story about something happening in Kamchatka is not needed to translate. But that Vesti, Вестей , cannot control their news announcer from not to laugh who are forced to read "news" directed from Moscow is hilarious. This wasn't the first time.

Kremlin still spreading disinformation over the world.

Target Arabic audience, about the US and China.
CORONAVIRUS MEETS HOLLYWOOD
https://euvsdisinfo.eu/coronavirus-meets-hollywood/
While the volume of disinformation cases about the coronavirus levelled off this week, their creativity did not disappoint.
...
If there is one thing we envy the Kremlin’s disinformation agents, it is their creative freedom. Sometimes it’s hard not to play along. Maybe next week, the pro-Kremlin media will tell us that a US-made coronavirus mutation is sterilising men and turning women into super-feminist hermaphrodites?

Target Russian audience, about Sweden.

From the very top of the Kremlin leadership we heard this week that people organising non-sanctioned meetings in Sweden can be sentenced to five or ten years in prison

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/14/europe/russia-coronavirus-putin-response-intl/index.html
(CNN)World leaders have been working from home during the coronavirus pandemic, and Vladimir Putin is no exception: On Monday, the Russian President held a videoconference from his official residence outside Moscow with some of the officials leading the government's efforts to tackle the disease.

It was an unusually somber meeting. Less than a month ago, Putin had radiated confidence about his government's response to a growing global crisis, reassuring his citizens that the situation was "under control" thanks to early intervention measures. A few weeks later, Putin played the role of international rescuer, dispatching a planeload of medical supplies to New York's John F. Kennedy Airport.

How quickly things can change in the time of coronavirus. In his Monday videoconference, Putin took stock of a worsening situation.
"We have a lot of problems," Putin said. "There is nothing to boast about, and we must not let our guard down, because in general, as you and your specialists say, we have not passed the peak of the epidemic yet."

The trendline speaks for itself. While Russia has comparatively few cases compared with the United States or the hardest-hit European countries, the number of confirmed cases has surged in recent days. On Monday, Russia reported a record one-day rise in cases, with 2,558 confirmed over the previous 24 hours.

Russia?
https://www.svt.se/nyheter/utrikes/corona-ryssland
As recently as a month ago, Putin claimed that the situation was under complete control. Few cases had been reported and almost no deaths. Nevertheless, in a hurry in express traffic outside Moscow, a hospital was started only for patients with covid-19. Why?
Many people with me suspect that the Kremlin, much earlier, received information that both the number of infected and the number of dead was far much higher than what was officially reported. One doctor I interviewed worried that thousands more Russians than usual had died of pneumonia. Officially without connection to covid-19. A few days later, she was arrested twice by police when she tried to hand out protective equipment to hospital staff.
Disseminating "incorrect" information about the disease is now punishable. Breaking a quarantine as well. It is usually fined, but anyone who is judged to have behaved really badly risks imprisonment for up to seven years.

MOSCOW, April 17. /TASS/. Works on the development of dangerous pathogenic agents may be conducted at US laboratories outside the United States, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, in her words, notes the United States’ bigger biological presence beyond its borders, in particular in former Soviet republics.

"We cannot rule out that the Americans use such reference laboratories in third countries to develop and modify various pathogenic agents, including in military purposes," she commented.

The diplomat recalled that the Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research in Tbilisi, a Georgia-based US biological laboratory, is an official part of the US military system of global infectious diseases control. "Moreover, according to recent reports, top-ranking Pentagon officials have recently visited it to offer the Georgian authorities to expand the range of research," she noted.

"Naturally, we cannot ignore the fact that the Americans are developing an infrastructure with hazardous biological potential in the direct proximity to the Russian borders," Zakharova stressed.

Now that's not very bright idea when you consider that Russia is still on the rise in reported cases and will pass China in a few days. :-O

Kremlin disinformation...
https://www.svt.se/nyheter/joanna-blev-citerad-i-fejkad-rysk-viralbomb-om-sveriges-corona-strategi-surrealistiskt
A Russian-language news site published an incorrect and very biased article on Sweden's corona strategy in March. The spread was huge and the article is one of the most widely shared Russian-language articles about Sweden ever. But when SVT gets hold of Joanna Soltysiak, who is quoted in the article, she is surprised. She has not participated in any interview. [She is a Polish-Swede triathlete]
The Azerbaijani website Haqqin states in the headline already that Sweden "renounces the fight against Corona" and the conclusion here is that the virus does not threaten people. To illustrate the situation in Sweden, one has used a summer image from the Old Town and another taken from a Falungong demonstration.
It may sound banal and obviously wrong, but the fact is that the article has received an extremely large spread.
Through the Crowdtangle analysis tool you can see that the article received 280,000 interactions on Facebook and thus belongs to one of the most shared articles about Sweden ever in Russian-speaking media .

However we can see the pro-Kremlin disinformation network curve is flattening:)

All very strange... And a blatant game of propaganda.

However, with such continuous fake-news propaganda, do people not come to learn that the articles are just propaganda?

Or is the game to leave people overwhelmed and confused to just make them 'give up'?

I don't think so. Many people are gullible and it's also very difficult to separate real news from fake news.
