Russian paranoid disinformation about army excercises in Finland.
https://www.is.fi/ulkomaat/art-2000005673160.html
Russian media have drawn heavy conclusions from the Finnish Armed Forces Arrow 18 exercise, which also includes US and Norwegian soldiers.
Russian web site Utro.ru declares in its title that "The United States forced the Finns to organize anti-Russian exercises". According to the site, the Arrow 18 exercise is about how the United States can "explore the soil" in the vicinity of Russia.
"Collaboration with US troops will once again show where the side of Finland will be, if the conflict begins," writes Utron journalist Aleksandr Iljin.
"The United States forced the Finns to organize anti-Russian exercises"?
Ridiculous!
The training objective of this exercise is to train joint interoperability between Army’s mechanised units and service branches as part of mechanised units’ offensive as well as in joint firing.
Apart from the participating Finnish training units (strength 3200), this exercise will bring to Finland the US Army Europe (USAREUR strength 120) and from the Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa (MARFOREUR/AF strength 30), and an intelligence platoon (strength 50) from the Norwegian Armed Forces.
"Vicinity of Russia"?
Heck. You cannot have army excercises further from the Russian border than Niinasalo that is about 500 km away and almost on the Finn WEST coast to the northern Baltic Sea. Actually the location is closer to Sweden than Russia.
When Russia have army and naval excercises they are always much closer to their western border than that.
For instance when Russia having missile excercises about 70 km away from a Swedish Naval base is what I call Vicinity!

The 2018 TriBeCa Festival gave the award for best narrative short movie to a Russia Fascist propaganda flick inspired by terrorists who dream of destroying the US
The Tribeca ward ensures that, perhaps for the first time, a Fascist propaganda film will be on the long list for an Oscar. It also legitimises Russia’s invasion of Ukraine’s Donbas and a Russian intelligence curated organisation that has committed war crimes. Here are a few facts about the cast of this film and its setting that Tribeca failed to notice.
https://www.byline.com/column/81/article/2165
The TriBeCa Film Festival was founded by Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro 2002. The reason was to honor all who died during the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Russia uses fake rape stories to create hostility to NATO troops
https://www.stopfake.org/en/russia-uses-fake-rape-stories-to-create-hostility-to-nato-troops/
The current Russian information warfare comes in many shapes and forms. Some of the methods involve highly contemporary technology, such as bots and hackers, others rely on emotional narratives. Vilnius Institute for Policy Analysis already presented how Russia is exploiting the Nazism narrative in the Baltic States, which is deeply connected to Russian historical identity and emotions. This time we are looking into a new pattern of disinformation – accusations of rape.
The trend that started as the Lisa story in Germany keeps reappearing in the region, followed by instances in Lithuania and Ukraine. These stories are usually debunked very fast, but the emotionally charged narratives usually do damage faster than it can be controlled. These stories have similarities to the crucifixion narratives in Ukraine, nonetheless they are more believable and therefore much more common. VIPA analyzed the recurring patterns of soldier rape narrative, its reach in the social media and the possible outcomes it generates. Here is what we found.

Quiz time. Swedish vs Russian news about doping in sports told by the Russian hacker group Fancy Bears.
Two versions. Which one is correct?

Fancy Bears published this yesterday https://fancybear.net/pages/saga-about-doping.html
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fancy_Bear

1.
Riksidrottsförbundet (The Swedish Sports Confederation, RF) has encountered a data breach by the Russian hacker group Fancy Bears.
"This is a serious crime," says Secretary General Stefan Bergh to RF's website.

2.
Hacker group Fancy Bears has published documents obtained from the Swedish Sports Confederation claiming that the vast majority of Swedish top athletes suffer from asthma.

A court fined only one of the Cossacks (hired by the Moscow police doing the dirty work to keep "law and order") who took part in the clashes on May 5 where protesters on Pushkin Square was whipped by the Cossacks.

The Cossacks who thrashed at anti-Putin protesters with whips in Moscow on May 5 have been punished by their own - with a whipping. Apparently for “reacting to provocateurs" rather than for beating people.
The news that Yevgeny Fedorchenko still was punished, went to many media outlets.
However, not everyone paid attention to an important detail: he will have to pay a thousand rubles only for foul language. Not for a fight, not for the use of a whip, but for the foul language, although, according to Mediadzona, there are photos and videos that confirm that Fedorchenko beat the protesters. But the court did not even consider this issue.

Today Russian propaganda site Sputnik published this.
The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) will issue a new pamphlet on public preparedness and security with guidelines to teach people how to behave in crisis situations, during terror attacks or in the event of war after a 57-year-long break.
“From May 28 to June 3 MSB will begin distributing the pamphlet “If crisis or war comes” to 4.8 million Swedish households,” the agency’s message read.

I'm surprised that they didn't publish anything about the restoration of Gotland's regiment P18 also today. Gotland is the island in the Baltic Sea.
The Gotland defense - a 200-year history
https://www.svt.se/nyheter/lokalt/ost/forsvaret-pa-gotland-en-200-arig-historia
The military defense of Gotland is a result of the more than three-week Russian occupation of the island of 1808.
On May 28, 2005, the official decommissioning of Gotland's regiments was conducted.
Between 2005-2018, the island lacked regular military forces.
With the government's autumn budget in 2017, a proposal was made to restore the Gotland regiments, which then took place on January 1, 2018.

The Russian regime-critical journalist and author Arkadij Babchenko has been shot dead on Tuesday night in Kiev, Ukraine.
Babtjenko was one of Russia's most famous war correspondents. He reported critically about the Russian government and President Vladimir Putin. Among other things, he was critical of Russia's actions in the Crimean peninsula. He left Russia in 2017 when he began to get threatened and was afraid to be imprisoned.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-44299741
The Ukrainian police suspect that his death is linked to his journalistic work, the police wrote in a press release, according to Meduza
https://meduza.io/en/news/2018/05/29/russian-journalist-arkady-babchenko-is-reportedly-shot-and-killed-in-kiev.
https://meduza.io/en/feature/2018/05/30/a-man-made-by-war
In March 2018, Babchenko wrote that he feared for his life after posting a photograph of a Russian soldier allegedly responsible for supervising the seizure of military facilities in Crimea. Babchenko sent his family to a secure location and didn’t leave his home. At night, he says he jumped at the sound of the elevator and tiptoed to his door’s peephole. In his last Facebook post, shared on May 29, Babchenko recalled how, four years earlier, he was kept off a helicopter that then promptly crashed. He said he considered that day his “second birthday.”

Opa!
Arkady Babchenko: 'Murdered' Russian journalist is alive.
At a press conference broadcast by Ukrainian media, Babchenko can be seen dementing his own death.
According to the Ukrainian security service, the "murder" was staged to stop a real assassination attempt alleged ordered by the Russian government. Someone have been offered equivalent to more than 35,000 Euros of Russian security service to perform the murder of Arkadij Babtjenko, writes the news agency TT.
The Reporters Without Borders "expresses its deepest concern over the manipulation of the Ukrainian security service as part of its information war", writes Secretary General Christophe Deloire on Twitter.
"It's always very dangerous for states to play with facts, especially at the expense of journalists."

The Ukrainian secret service SBU sting operation "Assassinate Babtjenko"...
Now all countries are going to distrust news from Ukraine involving Russia.
Like SVT Russia correspondent Bert Sundström said "If we distrust Russia and know that we can not trust Ukraine, who will we believe in then - Trump ?"

Cheap vs expensive shashlik.
Is expensive lamb the best or is pig bits on a stick the way to go?
Warning, this is not vegan friendly.

LOL:)
That is what all news team that are not Russian are exposed to.
Actually all foreign teams that are roaming in Russia and documenting.
For instance Ville Haapasalo's travel program crossing Russia from Murmansk trough Siberia and to Vladivistok and an other trip through Russian Caucasus was also guarded by the Russian state like those from the BBC.
Haapasalo is a Russian state artist, Finnish television celebrity and film star in both countries and he has even been awarded a medal from Putin. In his travel program, he shows up a Russia that is unfamiliar to most people both inside and outside the country.
An episode from Grozny in Chechnya was funny when Ville was out dining there with his team.
Since he recognized the Russian followers/stalkers from other places sitting in the same restaurant, he asked them to join them.
They didn't join Ville's team:)

As for England.
Welcome with a warning for England fans in Volgograd
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-44372971
And watch out for Cossacks. They do use horse whips!

Why am I not surprised:)
Or do you have four feet over there?

Soccer In America vs Sweden.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaBbbOjOSR4

Football is a national sport in Russia. That and icehockey in the winter.
The US is a joke in both disciplines.
The US didn't even qualify to play in this WC football.
And icehockey. Well in this year's World Championship the US actually came third, beating Canada:)

Russia's national anthem is very familiar to me:)

A week ago Kim Jong-un met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Pyongyang.
A popular Russian online satire account, Lentach, posted a comparison of the official handshake photo with the image that appeared on Rossiya 1 on the Russian social media network, Vkontakte.

Lentach: “Rossiya 1 showed a photo from Lavrov’s meeting with Kim Jong-un. But they added a photoshopped smile so as not to cloud Kiselev’s joyful content”
