Yes, GPUGrid work is very spotty. You almost have to sit on the site and watch the SSP for when ACEMD Long Tasks make an appearance and then they are snatched up very quickly. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours ![]() ![]() A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Will be interesting to see what the effect of these longer running WUs is on Credit granted. Same, more, or even less? Just had a look. 50-60 was the going rate. Getting between 70-80 for the longer running WUs (at the moment at least). Interestingly, just to show the weirdness that is Credit New, that last little batch of Arecibo work paid from 55-75 for WUs with 2 seconds difference in their Run times. Grant Darwin NT |

These new tasks are taking about 30 seconds longer than the previous for an additional 10 credits on average. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours ![]() ![]() A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Your post forced me to look at your tasks and the benefit was I finally saw short tasks available. I haven't seen any of those before since I joined in December. Unfortunately they all errored out just like the long tasks do on my Linux cruncher. Will have to wait for a new application to fix that issue. Good news is that I have both short and long tasks running on the Windows cruncher. Unfortunately, GPUGRID has not shown up on my projects in which I am participating in. I guess it will show up one day. I just go through doing another 12hr one... http://www.gpugrid.net/results.php?userid=522099 ![]() |

Do you by chance have Gridcoin as your Project Manager? Any projects attached to Gridcoin do not have hosts or tasks visible in the project itself apparently. Seen a lot of posts about the same problem you report. You have to use Gridcoin as your manager. No! I am using BONICStatsBam. Think causes the same issue. You won't be able to view tasks and Hosts without using BAM. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours ![]() ![]() A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Work at GPUGrid is very much a hit and miss. I sometimes have a computer there but I run more Einstein as backup for that computer than I do GPUGrid. ![]() ![]() |

There were short run ACEMD tasks at GPUGrid this morning. First time I've ever seen them. Grabbed a couple for the Windows10 machine. Had to pass on the Linux machine since the application broke 1st day of February because the license expired. We are still waiting for the developer to return to the project to fix the Linux apps. The only Linux app working now is the QC cpu app. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours ![]() ![]() A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

I take that GPUGrid has no forums. Too bad. |

I take that GPUGrid has no forums. Too bad. No GPUGrid has forums. Fairly active especially with the Linux app troubles lately. GPUGrid Forums Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours ![]() ![]() A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Since upgrading my Mac with 4 cores and the graphic cpu to the latest BOINC version 7.8.6, there has been a drop in credits from on average 2,400 units per day to a miserable 850 units per day, and still dropping. That is despite similar usage patterns. Any Explanation? |

Remember the A stands for average. It is not at all an instant number. ![]() SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |

Since upgrading my Mac with 4 cores and the graphic cpu to the latest BOINC version 7.8.6, there has been a drop in credits from on average 2,400 units per day to a miserable 850 units per day, You need to check what it is you are comparing. 2,400 would have been your total RAC- your 2 systems combined. Your present total RAC is 2,162. A slight drop. 850 is for the Apple system alone. I would also check the settings on that computer, as it's not actually returning very much work- hence it's very low RAC compared to the other system. In the BOINC Manager, advanced view, Options, Computing preferences, make sure at the top is says "Using web based preferences from https://setiathome.berkeley.edu" and still dropping. That is despite similar usage patterns. Any Explanation? Not processing on the iGPU would make a big improvement in your Apple's work output. And as others have said, Credit New is also screwing with things. Grant Darwin NT |
