does rescheduling can break creditnew ?

fasters crunchers handle a lot more WU than normal one (decade or more ) , with the 100 wu limit , they have to reschedule CPU WU to GPU WU for the tuesday outage , it result of some curious behavior when i'm looking about theses specials wingmen , with so fastest CPU WU crunched in some seconds .. ( > rescheduling ) , HOW creditnew can handle that with more and more examples of WU crunched fastest than ever on CPU was done by the GPU ?

with theorical 50 GPU WU a day for mine, the chance to have one of the faster cruncher for wingman will come ? a lot ?

the other side of this problem :
i ask for only 1day cache ( add 0.01day ) i've got 40-50 GPU wu ( seems ok to made them in one day )
but there is a serious problem with CPU WU , now i've got 67 CPU wu in cache, my CPU handle one WU in 3H (BLC now) 5H (arecibo )

HOW the server made this choice of sending me about 67 CPU WU ( about 8 days BLC cache or 14 days AR cache ) for 1 day cache setting ...

Seti@home setting is 100%, Boinc SETI setting is max conccurency of 2 MB WU at a time , even if i use 50% of the CPU or 100% when 0 GPU WU in cache
this is too much for my rig ...

Did you have any ghosts before the last outage?

I had 22 ghosts on 1 rig, but since the outrage all those ghosts have been resent to me.

Cheers.

You can't really break something that is already broken.

I don't think rescheduling has any effect on CreditNew unless maybe you actually process a type assigned task on a different type. I only know of one person that moves gpu tasks to cpus to process them there to keep the high core count machine fed. Most of us just bunker gpu tasks on Tuesday so we have something for the gpus to work on during the outage.

I don't know. I rarely make ghosts. But did see one of the troublesome Threadrippers I have been working on mysteriously dump the 400 ghosts all at once yesterday that I had created with a project reset a couple of weeks ago. It started with 400 tasks then somehow was shown with 800 tasks and now today it is back to its correct 400 tasks cache level.

Actually rescheduling had a very big and bad impact when CreditScrew was first introduced and the Admins here strongly recommended to stop using Fred's rescheduler back then and Fred removed the app from his site. Back then those moving CPU tasks to GPU were cutting the credit awarded down to a small fraction of what should've been awarded for a task and in some cases a negative credit was even awarded which had the admins very busy to stop those negative credit scores from happening.

Cheers..

OK, never had that history lesson before. I wonder if Fred's rescheduler was the impetus of the "cherry-picking" fix in CreditNew?

Rescheduling is one of the things that can help CrediNew to fail, by causing the APR for your processors to be not what they should be.

Well with the lack of any Arecibo tasks to reschedule for over a week, that isn't happening anymore. I already see much higher APR's for my gpu apps and a drop in APR for my cpu apps.

The way it's been going lately, it should be named 'Credit Demise'.
