I'm generating pool results now - all 3 machines.
Windows 10, quad core intel's, GEForce 1050 GPU's
have a seti ikon now that says 25%
not sure what that is

when does grcpool need results to generate stats? what time of day?

below is a copy of cc_cponfig.xml file in my seti data folder with other *.xml files
the aim is to stop asto pulse, and not to use my gpu's
these are GeForce 1050's busy doing other things

but I keep getting astropulse, though only requesting seti units
ideas? put it in a seti thread - no response for 5 days
this file could be named in error as well.

start of file

<cc_config>
<log_flags>
</log_flags>
<options>
<exclude_gpu>
<url>http://setiathome.berkeley.edu</url>
<app>astropulse_v7</app>
<type>NVIDIA_gpu</type>
<device_num>0</device_num> ;comment ==>> gpu's on pci 0 & 1
<device_num>1</device_num> ;this text not in file shown to left
</exclude_gpu>
</options>
</cc_config>

end of file

last but not least -->> my gridcoin wallet crashed & could not recover it
I know wallet address used for funds, and encryption code
Is there a way to recover grid coins? about 3.7 of them...

Also at times the grid coin wallet uses 75% to 85% of CPU cycles for about 10 minute periods.

I'm a day trader, and need my GPU's on 0 and 1 running charts, when not trading the plan is
to have 2 cc_cponfig.xml files, swap em and restat Seti to to either run with reduced gpu's
or with all gpu's running seti on weekends.

thank you for ideas and help.

Don't use comments in the XML files. While they are XML files, they're especially made for BOINC and adding comments can break them. If you need to, use <!--- this is a comment --> style commenting on its own line.

If you do not want to use Astropulse at all, go to your account (click your name in the top right corner), then Preferences for this project, Edit preferences, uncheck Astropulse, Update preferences, the next time BOINC contacts the project it will get those prefs in.

There's no need for a cc_config.xml file here to exclude your GPUs because you do not have them detected by BOINC.
Even if they get detected, you can go through those same Preferences for this project to uncheck Use NVIDIA GPU. Way easier than swapping cc_config.xml files.

As for anything with Gridcoin and wallets and cryptocurrencies, ask about that on the Gridcoin forums. There's not many people here using them, or interested enough in them to help you figure out what to do about your predicament with them.

thank you for the help
In my web page for seti at home, I only have Seti@home checked
all Nvidea and all other GPU check boxes unchecked

I agree swapping files is a bit tedious.

But the fact remains
Seti is sending me astropulse units
It takes 20 hrs to do these, and my magnitude. and rac numbers seem to decline
if I'm running Astropulse units.
A seti unit takes about 2 hours, no idea good or bad performance.

as for the comments they were only in here to indicate what I was tryin g to do.
these do not exist in my config file.

thanks for the ideas, and comment format.
much appreciated. have a great week end Ageless

Make sure that If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? is also unchecked, else you get exactly that. Make sure you use the correct venue as well.

only seti is checked.
other apps is unchecked.
all gpu's are unchecked.
I am set for 10 days work, increment 0.1 day
I get 100 units per machine
the max I gather, so with 4 cores per cpu,
it takes approx 50 hours to crunch a 100 units give or take a bit.

at one time there was a cache system for all your cpu's
and all work units were stored on one hard drive, wondering if that still exists?

goodness only knows what it is called,,, if it exists yet.

thanks Ageless
