Please translate for those of us who don't understand the code. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

I can attest to the OP that this works. I do it all the time to see where certain catalog numbers and groups correspond to. |

Never in a month of Sundays would I have thought of doing that . Thanks. Old enough to know better(but)still young enough not to care |

Tell me more about it. The first thing that pops in my mind is the Voyager spacecrafts. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

The signals are indeed from Voyager 1 out in interstellar space. Just another way for the project to verify the sensitivity of the receivers and signal processing checks. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Well, now that's very cool. :~) The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I was exploring the matter when Keith posted his excellent reply. If you<re curious, all I can do now is share some pointers toward a previous Breakthrough Listen: Voyager 1 Observation, a 3d orbit diagram featuring the Solar System and showing the orbit of Voyager 1 relative to the Sun and the orbits of the major planets (the same here with a different tracking perspective), and the overall Voyager 1 Sky Charts and Coordinates, all mesmerizing stuf. Edit: it appears Voyager 1 work units will be discussed in this thread. Well, now that's very cool. :~) Apr 3, 1999 - May 3, 2020 |

The 3D orbit diagram is especially nice in illustrating that Voyager 1 was sent out of the solar system at almost a 90° angle to the system ecliptic. Hope everyone realizes that you can use your mouse in the diagram to change the viewing angle. One of the advantages is that it cleared the system halo sooner.
