you guys do not eat enough garlic....
We'll try garlic as soon as its unfrozen. For the moment, we're taking this wintery opportunity to keep our CPUs and GPUs cold while they crunch data for SETI@home.

Staff members Patrick & Ernest from Mac Station (not too far from Ice Station Zebra), wondering if the
last working computer has frozen or if there is yet again a glitch with one of Berkeley's download servers.

Isn't that Patrick McGoohan in Ice Station Zebra?
*That* would explain very well why he's so riled up whenever we call him Number Six !

North East Siberia. Brrrr.
This week's temperature in Oymyakon reportedly beat the record of February 6, 1933, when a temperature of —67.7 °C (-89.9 °F) was registered at the town's weather station.

Horror! Us locals, are afraid to go out in such a cold. And here ... the tourists are swimming …!

We were promised the opposite,
30 hours of snow with about half heavy and windy.
What did we get, a sprinkling by about 5 am, that had gone, because it rained instead, by 7 am.

this is a very dry powdery snow...
so the wind blows and you're in
a snow cloud all of a sudden.
18 mph winds and the low will
be around 10F.
our dog is so happy.
