What you are describing is not Socialism. But a Social Welfare State under Capitalism. A Capitalism which supplies funds for the Peoples Welfare. A Social Welfare System which I vigorously support.

I surmise that you may find they would actually agree with you... many who call themselves "socialists" use the term as synonymous with "social democrats". There aren't many who advocate the transfer of the means of production from private ownership these days. For one, it reduces or eliminates competition, which is essential to prevent stagnation and inefficiency. China uses the "market socialist" model where companies behave as though they were privately owned capitalist entities in competition but are still owned and/or controlled by the state.

I haven't seen a "Radical Left" person in this forum yet however. Everyone here is pretty moderate. :^)
