We did seek and all we found was the big bad stench of lies, corruption and hypocrisy.

'Average' people(whatever they are). are interested in news that affects them. That's world wide I believe. The fact is that very little that is of interest to the 'average' European or Scandinavian or EU resident is interesting to the 'average' American or Chinese, etc.

News organizations pimp their information to the highest audience rating by tailoring biases and flavoring the content to maximize that audience. The reason is obviously the advertising dollar.

That being said, and as much as I despise the site, Twitter would seem to be the most uninfluenced information source once the inevitable chaff is discarded. I closed my Twitter account a couple years ago due to spammage but might consider reopening as Facebook is becoming more unreliable by the day except for family interaction.

We need a 'World Law' requiring all 'News Sources' to only report the facts and occurrences of the day without bias, editing, 'lost footage', and any other alteration and let each viewer/reader draw their own opinions and conclusions...........but then the 'Controllers' would lose control............

That's true.
But there are exeptions.
For instance state news outlets like British BBC, Swedish SVT, Norwegian NRK and Finn YLE.
They do not get any extra dollars for high ratings and still providing reliable news.
Only biased in that sense they sometimes cherry pick.

You know, the situation here is not that different from that in the UK. You all do not directly elect your Prime Minister. Each party elects its leader. You all elect your Member of Parliament. The leader of the party that gets the majority of seats in Parliament is the PM. Did I get it wrong? Representative Democracy.

In a way we DO directly and both indirectly elect the Prime Minister, and also we don't either! let me explain. At election time there are 650 seats up for grabs (soon to be 600) one for each parliamentary constituency. People usually vote for 2 main reasons.

1. They think a particular candidate will be the best choice for their area, irrespective of politics.
2. They vote for the person representing the party they would like to see in government.

People need to think of the possible outcomes of their vote, but usually they don't.

Then yes the leader of the party that gets the most seats becomes PM, PROVIDING it is not a hung parliament, when a coalition may have to be formed to get a workable government as in 2010-2015. But even then it is not that simple. I know people that support the Labour party but won't vote for them because they don't want Corbyn as PM. But then look what happens when a PM resigns during the term of office. There is a leadership election which is restricted to the members of the party. The general public did not vote for Theresa May as PM. Although having said that, she was probably the only sensible choice of the remaining front bench.

As for this Federal business, we don't have that in a Monarchy. In the UK we have a National government at Westminster, devolved governments in the four constituent countries, and Local governments in the form of County Councils and Borough & Town Councils. They get government grants to carry out their business and make their own budgets. For example it is perfectly possible for a resident to have a Conservative Government, a Labour County Council, and a Lib Dem Town Council. Each Town Council can make Byelaws for minor matters like dog fouling of pavements and ball games in parks. We can do all of that because we are a relatively small country in area.

You can't have central control in America it is to damn big, so it is devolved to 50 States to run their own affairs under a sort of national umbrella. The trouble is that every State has different laws for the same offence, and the Governors behave like King in their own little country. They still have Sheriffs strutting about like Wyatt Earp in the 1880's. There is no such thing as the UNITED States, just a disparate collection of fiefdoms. Want evidence? read on.

As you see today. The States can, if it doesn't conflict with the Constitution and using their Independent Authority, tell Washington to drop dead.

How can you run a country like that? The answer is you can't, which is why America is like it is today. If a UK County told Westminster to take a hike, and decide their own laws, their grants would be stopped and their Council taken over by the Government.

Ok try this for size

Congress - Houses of Parliament
Senate - House of Lords
House of Representatives - House of Commons
Executive Branch - Civil Service
President - Cabinet Secretary

So who enforces the country adhering to the Constitiution?

Now we know why the leak on the briefing memo ...
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia-lawyers/trumps-lead-lawyer-for-federal-russia-probe-resigns-nyt-idUSKBN1GY27B?il=0
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump’s lead lawyer for the federal special counsel probe of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election resigned on Thursday, the New York Times reported, citing two people familiar with the matter.
John Dowd stepped down after concluding Trump was increasingly ignoring his advice, one of the people said, according to the Times.

The SETI forum Politics is very much like a fighting club.
The White House as well.

Crazy Joe Biden is trying to act like a tough guy. Actually, he is weak, both mentally and physically, and yet he threatens me, for the second time, with physical assault. He doesn’t know me, but he would go down fast and hard, crying all the way. Don’t threaten people Joe!

Understand that Trump is a 'street fighter' type. It explains much.

No Rumpers is a bully. Bullies are the one who end up in a corner sobbing and begging not to be hurt after the first punch connects. They are pitiful.
