It's funny how they both claim they can't make money on cars. Yet the European and Asian manufacturers don't seem to have that problem. I would hate to stuff myself into an asian car but it just might have to do so. Its that or a Tesla.

I'd really like to see all SUV's and Trucks that are not used as Commercial vehicles be included in the Cafe standards. That would make manufacturers rethink fuel efficiency and cars in general.

It took me many years but in 2005 I walked away from a Chrysler 300m and American manufacturers and straight into a Toyota dealership, haven't looked back since. Spent 14 years in an Avalon with no major problems.

The only job guarantee for the 'Big Three' is for their mechanics, you will be seeing them a lot. I now have a 6000 pound Tundra 4WD that gets a little over 20 mpg on the highway(in the mountains) with negligible emissions, and will run on E85 if needed.

My last three SUV's and my wife's last two passenger cars have not been American.

However, if I was in the market for a Pickup Truck. A Dodge Ram would be my pick.
