I have no problem with people who are rich.
They have cash flow as everyone else so the economy is shared at very least.
The problem start when they are stacking their wealth.
Like many of one percenters does.
The one percenters to me is like black holes.
What goes in, never comes out.

What is the shape of the laffer curve?
here are some possible samples: https://www.itl.nist.gov/div898/handbook/eda/section3/eda366.htm
The picture in the photo in the thread for the curve is like a Tukey-Lambda Distribution. Well BZZZZZZT wrong.

It is much more like a Weibull Distribution or a F Distribution, very heavily skewed towards high tax rates.

The tax rates are so low now we aren't anywhere near the top.

The USA had a tax rate of 93% at one time and it was doing fine. That is likely a tax rate that is near the real top of the laffer curve.

No wonder trickle down doesn't work! We aren't taxing enough for it too work.

LOL. When economists starting to create "scientific" models of how economy works they always fail.
Have you ever met an economist that now are stinking rich after using their own models?
Don't think so:)
Well maybe Trump can:)

All "economy science" are always models of the past.
You cannot predict anything from those models.
in science you have to be able to predict, from a model, a future result .

Too Moomin, Gary & Wiggo all you are doing is affirming the proven concept of diminishing marginal utility. Specifically 1 dollar is less useful to someone who makes 10 million a year than someone who makes 30 thousand a year.

Then the laffer curve is the Birnbaum-Saunders (Fatigue Life) Distribution.

Strange that you have a regulated minimum wage by the US government.
Blin. We don't have such communistic ideas here:)
Then all statistics about income and taxes that are per household.
What? Very confusing. How do you calculate marginal utilities then?
And what is a household in the US anyway per definition?
Here all people above 18 years pay individual income tax no matter the size of the household.
Even if the person have an income that is way lower than the US minimum wage:)

This is mainly for Clyde, as he keeps repeating Trump's claim that the Christopher Steele dossier is bogus.

Reuters - Trump 'dossier' author grilled by Justice Department watchdogs: sources

In that same month, Attorney General William Barr, who now heads the Justice Department, told a congressional committee that the Horowitz probe would be completed by May or June.

One of the two sources said Horowitz’s investigators appear to have found Steele’s information sufficiently credible to have to extend the investigation. Its completion date is now unclear.

ALL conjecture, from 'anonymous' sources(all officials refused to comment), a favorite ploy by 'News' agencies seeking higher ratings.....as with Mueller it remains to be seen what will be in the report.

Probably another 'fart in a skillet'.

Is asserting a motive (i.e. "seeking higher ratings") with no evidence, an example of "conjecture"? Are you still waiting to see the content of the Mueller report? Is NPR an acceptable source for this document?

BTW I don't expect an answer, I suspect I am still on JaundicedEye's ignore list (if so, I've been there for over three years).
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

When you can't shoot a bear either on the Eastern plains or the Western Slope, all you can do is fart in your skillet, hear it echo, and they eat it?
Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.

Alex Acosta resigns from U.S. government after furor over Jeffrey Epstein plea deal

U.S. Labour Secretary Alexander Acosta on Friday resigned after earlier in the week defending way [sic] he handled a decade-old sex abuse case against wealthy businessman Jeffrey Epstein while Acosta was a federal prosecutor.

Donald Trump announced the news with Acosta by his side at the White House as the president left on a trip to the Midwest.

...

The prosecutors said they were not bound by the 2008 Florida deal struck by Acosta, then the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, that allowed Epstein to plea to a lesser offence. Epstein served 13 months in jail with leave during the day and registered as a sex offender.

The deal came under scrutiny earlier this year following reporting by the Miami Herald, and Democrats en masse had called for Acosta's resignation.

Acosta had attempted to clear his name, and on Wednesday held a news conference — encouraged by Trump — to defend his actions. In a 50-plus-minute lawyerly rebuttal, Acosta argued his office had secured the best deal it could at the time and was working in the victims' best interests.

"We did what we did because we wanted to see Epstein go to jail," he said, refusing to apologize for his actions. "We believe that we proceeded appropriately."
