its the economy stupid ...

After years of stagnation, our economy is finally on the rise.
Your politicians, like our politicians, like to gloss over the fact that the economy was trashed by the private banking sector in 2008 - aided and abetted by right-sided (not just right-wing) politicians forcing through progressive deregulation since the 1980s.

YUP.......EVERYTHING is the fault of the 'Right'. (Including the policies that are now allowing our 'rising tide' that is lifting all boats not anchored in the Socialist bottom muck.......)

Too bad we're "RIGHT".

However. YOU ARE A SURVIVOR!!!

Dull surviving is a poor 2nd prize compared to prospering. Reagan hosed a large part of the middle class, not all survived but the oligarchs prospered. The chaos you live in is in part due to his policies.
Enjoy your misery.

bottom 1 percentile, in debt $80,000 (pity the not poor banker who has to pick up the tab)
25 percentile $10,000 (might get you buried)
50 percentile $90,000 (might get you a couple years of retirement)
80 percentile $500,000 (might get you 5 years of retirement)
90 percentile $1,200,000 (might get you beans for life, but no steak)
99 percentile $10,400,000 (steak and lobster for life)

Reagan and his allies peddled cool aid laced with LSD and the idiocracy drank it. So did some who post on this board, oh maybe they are part of the idiocracy.

After we'd had our little chat about Reagan and Thatcher yesterday, I went down to the pub to read my morning newspaper. And found that they'd had the same idea, 12 hours earlier.

Britain fell for a neoliberal con trick – even the IMF says so

That's from the Guardian, which I freely acknowledge is a left-leaning newspaper, though I firmly deny that it is left wing - you want the Morning Star or the Socialist Worker for that.

If you read nothing else, look at the final paragraph:

Let us get it straight. Neoliberalism has ripped you off and robbed you blind. The evidence of that is mounting up – in your bills, in your services and in the finances of your country.

And so the light of comprehension finally begins to dawn on those led down the 'garden path'........

Where will he stop...or when?

So Mr. Trump actually thinks that a container ship full of goods has been sent via post!

This is another issue where both I am in agreement with Mr. Trump, and very few other politicians would have the gall to actually resolve it. And I am sure we have all seen it as well, simply from buying goods from eBay. How else are Chinese sellers able to offer free shipping to anywhere on Earth for items where the postage itself would normally be worth more than the item? Because China has kept its "developing nation" status with the postal union even while becoming arguably the world's largest economy, or if not a very close second.

Officials said they hoped the notice of withdrawal would set the stage to agree a better deal.
Gotta love the tactic, no matter what you think of the man.

China is waiting out November 6th, if there is no 'blue wave' or a 'red wave' occurs due to the stupidity of recent fanatical Left actions, and the distaste that's left in Conservative and Independent mouths, Xi will make concessions.

I don't expect full free trade(as that is a unicorn), but stopping the open theft of intellectual property(from everywhere, not just the US), and considerable loosening of the Chinese markets would be a start.

20 days from now the dust will settle, and a lot of people will again be unhappy as is the human condition.

The rise of international online shopping has led to a huge increase in the number of small parcels being sent via the postal system.

Yes go after nil% of trade, wave arms, claim problem solved. Makes sense to people who are far too mathematically challenged to actually understand the issues. Hey I hear you are going to win both lottery drawings this week!

So that $1 item, is a ticket in the lotto. How many tickets are sold to get to the jackpot value of 1/2 billion? Jackpot value of 1/2 billion is what percent of US China trade? 2017, US imports from China $522.9 billion, or over 1000 times the lotto jackpot. You work out how many little $1 orders that is.

mathematically challenged idiot

Yes JE... Whatever the outcome. The loser's will go bonkers in their accusations.

I say, follow the money.

See who are raising the biggest donations, probably a better bet than watching polls.
That appears to be House Democrats, the Senate is pretty even and Donald (but that money is for 2020). Is he effectively stealing from the GOP?

Hill-Liar-y out performed Trump in fundraising by many millions of dollars, and had a stacked deck rigged election, but her extreme hubris cost her the Presidency. Don't be too surprised if fund raising does not predict the winner. Independent and Conservative voters are VERY disturbed by the circus of blatant stupidity that took place with Kavanaugh.

The more the hooligans try to bully those made a target, the more traction the Conservative position gains.

Also the continuing efforts of Hill-Liar-y, Sputtercus, and Maisey the reverse misogynist, in concert with Maxine the Mouth inciting violence against their opponents will ultimately condemn their 'blue wave' to a ripple of disappointment.

How many people do you know change their vote regarding political commercials, mailings, etc.

In the past, money may have had an importance. But with 24/7 news from both sides and social media just confirming what voters already believe and follow. It is possible that the money contributor's are just stuck in the last century and do not understand this new era.

We all know that, but that only applies to the diehards of both parties. The independents in the middle are what counts in all elections and they will decide their votes on who has the best presentation. It's opinions that people vote on, not facts.
