So much for the Storm(y) to take the Moral High Ground and undermine the Trump Evangelical support...........the difference in expected reaction could be due to the Christian belief in forgiveness and redemption ..........rather than carrying a blind hatred and grudge for an election they still cannot accept.

Poll by the Public Religion Research Institute......

By the way, Melania blazed the brightest on the White House lawn this morning....what an elegant, intelligent and beautiful 1st Lady. A great counterpoint and foil for the sometimes 'rough on the opposition' President.

Without an 'unfair' advantage over the other parties under the law, the Republicans and the Democrats couldn't maintain their domination of the political party landscape. That advantage is that those two parties do not have to qualify to be on the ballots every election year... the other parties do.
In simple terms: A corrupt practice.

My state on the upper left coast picks the top two from the primaries for the general election. There are cases of Dem vs Dem or Rep vs Rep.

Very interesting. So the top two in an election may be of the same Party.

If this was Nationwide. The results would probably be very different.

Yes I'd expect so. I really doubt that there would be a candidate who who win primaries in enough states to appear on the general election ballot with a chance in the electoral college.

Oh and it is why the GOP has written off California. No chance for them to have candidates on the ballot, except in a few very rural districts.

For the first time in our history, this year the state from which all water flows will allow all registered voters to vote for the primary candidate of their choice regardless of affiliation or independence(as I have always been registered).

This could be a very interesting year in who gets on the final ballots and we are also electing a Governor to replace Chickenpooper...........

US falls to 45th on press freedom index, Trump labeled 'media-bashing enthusiast'
http://thehill.com/homenews/media/384757-us-falls-to-45th-on-press-freedom-index-trump-labeled-media-bashing-enthusiast
The report pins part of the blame for the U.S. slide on President Trump and his regular attacks on the media. The president often uses the term "fake news" in describing the American media.
"The United States, the country of the First Amendment, has fallen again in the Index under Donald Trump, this time two places to 45th," the report says. "A media-bashing enthusiast, Trump has referred to reporters 'enemies of the people,' the term once used by Joseph Stalin."
"The U.S.' decline in press freedom is not simply bad news for journalists working inside the country; the downward trend has drastic consequences at the international level," the report noted. " 'Fake news' is now a trademark excuse for media repression, in both democratic and authoritarian regimes."

Yes, it is corrupt practice. I've been saying that for decades, since I left the Republican party in the mid 1980s over a combination of the above mentioned corruption and the fact that the Ds and Rs don't really stand for anything other than 'we are not them'....

An example of what I am talking about:
https://www.lp.org/libertarians-challenge-ga-ballot-access-law-federal-court/

The lawsuit, filed on Nov. 21, challenges a state requirement that any political party receiving less than 20 percent of the votes for governor or 20 percent for president in the entire country must obtain notarized signatures from 5 percent of eligible voters in the district in order to place a congressional candidate on the ballot. This requirement has never been met, by any party.

The Libertarian party is more successful in getting ballot access than any other 'minor' party. Currently 39 of the 50 States (plus D.C.) ('choice' in the above graphic means Libertarian party ballot access).

You want elections in the U.S.A. to be better? Allow ALL political parties ballot access. End the dominance of both the Ds and the Rs... Give us a meaningful choice.

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power.

Ah, the Rump effect ... you were warned.
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-global-markets/stocks-slide-toward-longest-losing-streak-of-the-year-idUSKBN1HW02F
LONDON (Reuters) - Shares were on their way to the longest losing streak of the year on Wednesday, as an advance in U.S. bond yields beyond 3 percent and warnings from top global firms about rising costs fed fears that a boom in earnings may have peaked.
...
We expect 10-year Treasuries (yields) to end the year between 3 and 3-1/2 percent. A move beyond this level would likely require an acceleration of inflation in the euro zone and Japan
