In the USA, if no Presidential candidate obtains the required State's Electoral Vote. There is no new national election.

According to the 12th Amendment to the USA's Constitution. The States, which are represented i the House of Representatives. Must choose between the three highest vote receivers in the Electoral College .

Then, The States having one vote apiece. Chooses the next President.

it's the 'Other' Party's fault. So all the People have to do is determine just who the members of this 'Other' Party are and remove them from power in the next election..............think about it.

As long as there is other it will be the same, so perhaps time to get rid of the failed two party system and go European with proportional representation and dump winner take all.

The truth of the matter is Mitch McConnel personally shut the government down. Instead of asking for a procedural vote on the bill allowing it to be voted upon, which would have passed, he went for a higher bar and asked for debate to be cut off.
Of course he knew 4 Republican senators would have voted no on the bill but by going for a debate cutoff he attempts to deflect blame. People who aren't in right wingnut totalitarian echo chambers know who is guilty. Mitch McConnel, tRump and the Republicans.

Where is the compromise from BOTH Sides?

With those 4 moderate Republicans opposing the bill, to me, it says the bill was pitched too far to the right. So the logical conclusion is that the right failed to compromise.

To this non believer of one corrupt political party over the other corrupt political party. Both sides in this discussion are confirming everything I have posted.
