...a serious and perfectly honest man, holding as true that ampler view of life I have suggested, can attach himself loyally to any existing party or faction. At the utmost he may find their faction-fighting may be turned for a time towards his remoter ends. These parties derive from that past when the new view of life had yet to establish itself, they carry faded and obliterated banners that the glare and dust of conflict, the vote-storms of great campaigns, have robbed long since of any colour of reality they once possessed. They express no creative purpose now, whatever they did in their inception, they point towards no constructive ideals. Essentially they are things for the museum or the bonfire, whatever momentary expediency may hold back the New Republican from an unqualified advocacy of such a destination. The old party fabrics are no more than dead rotting things, upon which a great tangle of personal jealousies, old grudges, thorny nicknames, prickly memories, family curses, Judas betrayals and sacred pledges, a horrible rubbish thicket, maintains a saprophytic vitality.

I don't believe Oprah would want to lower her standard of living that far........it would be a way larger change than it was for the Donald.

When someone has amassed a great fortune, with no new worlds to conquer in their chosen profession...

Wondering if The Donald was just bored.

•Oprah vs. The Donald, and The Winner Is…•

[Oprah voice]Look under your chairs!!! Everybody in the audience is getting a voter registration form!!! Yay!!![/Oprah voice]

American citizens need a reality check. Just because our current president proved that "we the people" were willing to elect an individual who had never before held public office and who had no background, training or experience with public service, it does not mean that, going forward, we have to elect ANOTHER person with an equally unsuitable resume.

I'm sure that Oprah is a lovely person, but I do not think that being a celebrity necessarily qualifies one for office.

The problem with money is that the more one has, the more one wants. So when billionaires enters politics, their motives are questionable.

tRump wants to gut First Amendment.

My opinion. We should not go down the path of many other Countries, including some in Western Europe.

#1 - If you are a Public Official: If you can't take the heat...

#2 - If you are in the News Media. The First Amendment also protects the Freedom of Speech to attack you.

Therefore... If you can't take the heat...

Now Back to Subject.

For those without a subscription to The New York Times:

•Trump Appears to Endorse Path to Citizenship for Millions of Immigrants•

WASHINGTON — President Trump on Tuesday appeared open to negotiating a sweeping immigration deal that would eventually grant millions of undocumented immigrants a pathway to citizenship, declaring that he was willing to “take the heat” politically for an approach that seemed to flatly contradict the anti-immigration stance that charged his political rise.

But in suggesting that a broader immigration measure was possible next, Mr. Trump was giving a rare public glimpse of an impulse he has expressed privately to advisers and lawmakers — the desire to preside over a more far-reaching solution to the status of the 11 million undocumented immigrants already living and working in the United States. Passage of a comprehensive immigration law would give Mr. Trump success where Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush failed.

Finally, something I can agree with Trump 100%

5 Explosive Claims Made In Newly-Released Trump Dossier Testimony From Glenn Simpson.
Cheers.

Who was murdered, why were they murdered and who ordered the murder?

The "Trump Dossier" seems to include a lot of gossips.
Was Alex Oronov killed?
Did an Eighth Russian with Ties to President Trump Die Suspiciously?
A family member told us Ukrainian-American Alex Oronov died of an illness and had no ties to President Trump or his alleged connections with Russia.
https://www.snopes.com/eighth-russian-tied-to-trump-dies/
Oronov was not mentioned in a dossier containing unverified reports on Trump’s alleged Russian ties published by BuzzFeed in January 2017, and he was not the father-in-law of Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal attorney. Oronov’s actual son-in-law, Bryan (who is Michael’s brother), told us that he had long been in poor health and was gravely ill when he passed away.
Oronov was drawn into the conspiratorial fray because of misreported family connections, Bryan Cohen told us. A number of web sites took a Facebook post written by an embattled Ukrainian politician at face value and reported his claim that Oronov had introduced him to Michael Cohen as fact.

If he was murdered. There are many, on both sides and different Countries, who would have had a motive.

If he was not murdered: Yes, just gossip.

Understanding that the reason for the continuous attacks, are because I usually 'Hit the Nail on the Head', and they cannot understand there are much wider and nuanced beliefs outside of their narrow world.

Another confirmation regarding the correct belief that all power must be diminished.

WASHINGTON — A heroin-toting, unauthorized rental car driver and the owner of a stolen motorcycle that twice eluded police got some love from the Supreme Court Tuesday.

In two cases testing the reach of the Fourth Amendment's privacy protection, a majority of justices appeared to side with the suspects over the government when their constitutional rights were threatened.

[Trump nominated] Justice Neil Gorsuch, picking up on his predecessor Antonin Scalia's penchant for privacy rights, said Byrd would have been able to throw out a carjacker or a hitchhiker, "so why not the government?"

Clyde, a few months ago you stated that the Republicans control the US, now we see why, NYT - North Carolina Congressional Map Ruled Unconstitutionally Gerrymandered

In a state where Trump only won by less than 4%, and elected a Democrat Governor, Republicans hold 10 out of 13 congressional districts.

Judge James A. Wynn Jr., in a biting 191-page opinion, said that Republicans in North Carolina’s Legislature had been “motivated by invidious partisan intent” as they carried out their obligation in 2016 to divide the state into 13 congressional districts, 10 of which are held by Republicans. The result, Judge Wynn wrote, violated the 14th Amendment’s guarantee of equal protection.

The ruling and its chief demand — that the Republican-dominated Legislature create a new landscape of congressional districts by Jan. 24 — infused new turmoil into the political chaos that has in recent years enveloped North Carolina. President Trump carried North Carolina in 2016, but the state elected a Democrat as its governor on the same day and in 2008 supported President Barack Obama.
