I like the Postal Service just like I like the idea of subsidising highways. |

You want the USPS to stop losing money and costing the tax payer. Then level the playing field. The USPS has expensive pensions and health care plans, the opposition doesn't. So if the USPS tried to charge the real price for its services it would get zero business as the opposition prices would be much lower. Then there wouldn't be a postal service and none of that last mile delivery of the mail. |

Trump is a laughing stock outside the US!And still you don't understand that to the American People "outside the US!" IS outside the US. And we no longer ....care. Take your 'world opinion' to the UN, where it will be dutifully debated and pontificated upon and a resolution that means absolutely NOTHING will be passed. And nothing will be changed. And it will not matter. Get over Trump, he's certainly gotten over you. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

As I have correctly noted a number of times. Excepting during a war (include the now ended Cold War) or threat of a war. Very few inside the USA care what foreign leaders or their populations think about the USA. History has shown the world is getting smaller. Shutting your eyes, plugging your ears and holding your breathe until your face turns purple will not forestall the inevitable. |

Well if you tell a big lie often enough and put it on the internet some people will believe it. |

VOX.com Another faux neutral sourcing...... From Wikipedia...."Shortly after it launched, conservative writer David Harsanyi criticized the site's concept of "explanatory journalism" in an article in The Federalist titled "How Vox makes us stupid", arguing that the website selectively chose facts, and that "explanatory journalism" inherently leaves out opposing viewpoints and different perspectives.[17] Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry at The Week argued that the website produced "partisan commentary in question-and-answer disguise" and criticized the site for having a "starting lineup [that] was mostly made up of ideological liberals."[18] The Week's Ryu Spaeth described the site's operations as, "It essentially takes the news (in other words, what is happening in the world at any given moment in time) and frames it in a way that appeals to its young, liberal audience." So there are viewpoints and viewpoints. Hopefully as an 'independent' thinker you are digesting opposing views as well. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

I would say that trading is very much a peecemaker among countries. That USA, China and Russia trading would stop is probably the end of the world econimics. |

Yet another outsider view of the US today. 2017 will go to history as the year when the world's most powerful country changed moral compass direction. A whole world tries to interpret, understand and manage a new political strategy under President Trump. When the United States turns the world back, new power alliances are emerging. Democratic values are forced back. |

I do read every view point I can find. With general news, there isn't much difference. With anything political, the differences can be vast. What I am opposed to is the destruction of our government as we know it. I see a system now where the republicans went to the corporations for a wish list, and granted it. I see mining companies that can pollute streams, and not clean up after themselves after mining is done. I see where the justice department is finding every crime possible, and prosecuting it, in spite of the fact that America has 6% of the worlds population, and 25% of the worlds inmates. I see the state department with a fraction of the trained diplomats it once had. These are the people who can diffuse a misunderstanding before it occurs. I see a total war on science, with politics taking precedent over solid peer reviewed science. Many scientists have been fired or encouraged to leave. I see an FCC that is getting rid of net neutrality. I see the deportation of what could be good citizens, in many categories. I see a huge tax deficit building, while it will give an excuse to curtail Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. The US is already highest in the world of income inequality, with the 0.1% pulling in over 90% of the wealth created by the GDP. The 90% have stagnated since the late 80's. Up to that time the 90% saw a rising portion of the wealth the country got. This new tax law just makes this even worse. I see health care being made worse than it already is. It costs way more here than any other country, but we are rated 27'th. I see the EPA not helping the environment, but granting every possible wish the corporations want. On top of everything, I see a president who seems unable to understand anything, except the corporations must always be right. I see a constant train of lies and deceit. I see a president who may well get into a huge war with millions of casualties. Infrastructure breaking down in this country due to war, unlike just somewhere else. So, no, I am not at all pleased with anything I see happening, regardless of where I learn of it. This is unfettered corporations allowed to do anything they want, without regard to any US citizen. I find the whole situation disgusting. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |
