I love to watch hot air balloons floating in the sky. There's something surreal about their slow movement, kind of like dirigibles, too.

I have just returned from a trip "from coast to coast" of the USA.

All by train of course.

As I took over 2200 photos it has taken a while to look at them all. Here are a couple.

The wheat-fields of Illinois, taken from Amtrak 29 en route to Chicago

And crossing the Rockies taken from Amtrak 5 en route to San Francisco

I like that stormy sky over the wheat field. Did you run into any heavy rain?

What kind of camera/lens did you use for those spectacular shots?

I just got back from attending the inauguration of a new President of the university I graduated from in 1990.

Today's ceremony for the University of Louisville's new President:

Just got back from a local art festival called St. James Court Art Fair. It's held every year in the Old Louisville neighborhood:

That neighborhood is next door to the University of Louisville.

Not that old, by UK standards, this art deco hotel was built in 1933 by the London Midland and Scottish Railway.

Gordon - I wish you'd resize your photos. They're huge. The one with the fountain was (print size) 59" tall by 39" wide (2848 × 4272 pixels). This makes the file size huge and it takes a long time for your pix to load on my slow laptop. Also, they don't fit my screen so I have to scroll to see the whole photo.

Could you resize them so the physical size is 10" by whatever? In other words, the longer edge would be 10" -- in the example above you would resize the photo so that the 59" side is 10". The resulting width would be 6.67".

I believe I mentioned when I started this thread that photos should be resized if the original is real big.

Thanks,

Suzie-Q

P.S. Other than the size, I enjoy your photos. :-)

Sorry about that, Suzie. They fit my ordinary desktop computer's screen just fine without any scrolling issues, so I figured everybody else was ok. I'll see what I can do for my next upload batch. :~)

Gordon's pics work fine for me.
Is it possibly your browser or it's settings?

It's not about working or not working, it's about size & having to scroll around to see all the image.
Not all people have 50" 4k monitors, or have automatic image resizing enabled on their browser.

I reduced the file size. My program gives me pixel and percentage options. I didn't see any actual measurement option. Is this better?
