Except I convinced someone to buy a couple of GPUs instead of another Heater. My WAG is they were satisfied with how the New Server software was working at Beta and decided to try it on Main. If that's the case, we might not get any new work until next week. Now, with the Coldest night of the Year looming there isn't any GPU Fuel. I suppose I could move the Convection Oven and use that with the door open...and hope the cats stay out. Night 26°Lo |

Thu 04 Jan 2018 12:02:39 PM EST | SETI@home | Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance . . Out of work here. Since the message boards are up the project is clearly not down for maintenance so the upload download servers must be down for another reason. I hope they fix it quickly ... . . It always seems to happen when I an asleep ... :( Stephen :( |

...well with the ssp showing a nice shade of yellow I think we can sit back and live on our caches for a bit . . Nah, I've been dry for hours. The cache limits aren't big enough for that. It only lasts a few hours on this machine. :( Stephen :( |

Considering that the 4.4 earthquake this morning was centered only about 2 miles from the lab, it wouldn't be surprising that at least one server shook just enough to cause something to get a bit out of whack. Then again, it could be totally unrelated. . . I guess some of them saucers create a little havoc when they land/take off. Stephen :) |

Except I convinced someone to buy a couple of GPUs instead of another Heater. . . You could put a fly screen in front of the oven to keep the cats out. :) Stephen :) |

Uploads done, but repeated failures to connect to the scheduler. I'll maybe try a couple/three more times, but after that they're on their own while I sleep. Edit - ah, scheduler still disabled, should have checked that first. I get to sleep early! |

Unless staff decide to keep plugging away at the upload server malfunction, the scheduler may stay off for the rest of the evening. I do remember the last time an upset happened, staff brought the project back after 8 PM PST. So could be surprised and just crossing fingers. Downloads are stalling because everyone is asking for work. Going to require babysitting until caches are full again. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Downloads are stalling because everyone is asking for work. Going to require babysitting until caches are full again. Nah, it's a server issue again. One of my systems was getting work, the other required 20-50 retries. Un- commented the Download server address in my problem system Host file, no more download issues. Grant Darwin NT |

It's not looking good for the weekend. Hopefully restarting them will get them going again. Otherwise leave it till normal working hours. Get some sleep & have another go when fresh. Grant Darwin NT |

Complete tasks and my RAC is going backwards, not a really good incentive.. What makes it worse is there is no dialog between us and the top notch, no well done on donations or computer time..Nothing!.. If people just said oh well wonder how much they would listen Almost expected from what i gather |
