Bad news for the RAC. LOL Wasn't it you who was extolling the advantages of the current BLC05 tasks? :-} Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours ![]() ![]() A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

One of my systems was getting work, the other required 20-50 retries. Un- commented the Download server address in my problem system Host file, no more download issues.Just had the same thing happen here, with the new work. BOINC was trying vader (208.68.240.127) under round-robin DNS, and getting nothing back. I uncommented georgem (208.68.240.119), and got the stuck tasks immediately. Anyone else able to confirm current working / unworking IP addresses, before we wreck Eric's weekend? |

After Grant's post, I uncommented the SETI servers in my HOSTS file and immediately got work. Doesn't mean that it came down smoothly. Lots of download retries and backoffs. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours ![]() ![]() A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

The question was, WHICH download server is working or unworking? You can use <http_debug> in the log file to test for each individual download, but it generates a lot of waste data - turn it off again after use. |

Gee Wiz, just look at the long list of BLC files queued up on the Server Stats Page. . . Am I wrong or isn't that a reference to getting NEW Arecibo "tapes"? We have been rehashing old tapes with the new apps for quite a while now. But as they say "C'est la vie!" Stephen ? ? |

Great news for those who reschedule. No need for that anymore :-) . . If/when Arecibo work completely disappears that will certainly be true. But the app developers will probably be very, very busy trying to squeeze more juice out of their apps for running Blc tasks only ... since they can drop any code aimed at processing Arecibo type data files. Stephen :) |

Don't know. That post could be interpreted a couple of ways. No more reprocessing of old tapes or more likely no new data from Arecibo since it got damaged and status is questionable. No more 'Arecibo' also means an end to AP tasks, correct? So is that bit of analysis over? Nothing now but MBV8? ![]() "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

No more 'Arecibo' also means an end to AP tasks, correct? Until/unless a APv8 application comes out, or new data from Arecibo arrives. Grant Darwin NT |

No more 'Arecibo' also means an end to AP tasks, correct? Maybe AP from Parkes. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

From what I've gathered, AP (at least, any results being added to the DB('s)) was over anyway, and the Tasks sent out was just... make-work. ![]() ![]() |

No more 'Arecibo' also means an end to AP tasks, correct? . . Parkes data will be a Blc format too I suspect. Stephen ? ? |

I have no illogical attachment to tasks from Arecibo. It served its purpose in the beginning. Time to move on. It's not as if there is any lack of work coming from Breakthrough Listen and soon Parkes. Whether the volunteer developers ever attempt to make a AP V8 application for new data is the only interesting question I have. Searching for broadband signals is much harder than listening for narrow band signals. Takes more processing power. But as we know, processing power in the last decade has improved exponentially. I'm getting "transient HTTP errors" when trying to download sometimes. Seems new to me, don't recall seeing them before... Anyone else getting them? Any idea what causes them? |
