As the stderr of my tasks indicate: . . I just had a peek at one of your Stderr files. That info is easy to miss amid all the parameters being set :) . . I take it you are not a fan of Linux? I can't say I blame you, but it does have it's good points too :) . . Actually I was comparing your run times with those of my Windows box (i5-6400 with GTX950) and presumed you were running doubles. I found it interesting that the GTX980 run times are just under half those of the GTX950 :) What is the "normal" power drag of the GTX980 in full crunch? . . I was recently offered the chance to buy a second hand GTX980ti at a really good price. Sadly I was polite and allowed another friend first refusal, ... he didn't :( The reason I originally chose the 950 was that it doesn't require external PCIe power, which was the reason I didn't immediately snap up the offer of the 980ti, I would have had to solve the power issue. That box has no PCIe power connectors. Stephen :) |

Is there a statistic page somewhere that shows the number of Windows 32bit clients attached to the project? . . That's a worry, I had not heard of this development. I am running 64 bit but I have friends still running 32 bit. Stephen :( |

Is there a statistic page somewhere that shows the number of Windows 32bit clients attached to the project? Read the story on one of the Linux news sites. NVIDIA Ends Support for 32-bit Operating Systems

I was wondering how much of an impact that Nvidia's announcement that they are ceasing 32 bit driver support will have on this project. I suspect it will be bugger all. As it is, there are no current drivers that will support GTX 1000 series GPUs on Vista, even if it is 64bit. Existing systems will continue to work, and older presently supported GPU hardware will still work in those systems- as well as current hardware up to & including Titan V. You just won't be able to get any new (ie effectively Volta onwards) hardware to run on a 32bit OS. And given the minimum memory on current (and then the next generation) video cards, it really doesn't make much sense to even run such hardware in such a restrictive OS. Better to put those resources in to better 64bit drivers, than support something that is well past it's use by date. Grant Darwin NT |

The article said even the 32 bit drivers will have security updates till 2019, just no bug fixes or added features or support for newer hardware. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Look what has appeared in the SSP; Tasty little morsels to crunch they are. |

Look what has appeared in the SSP; . . Funny you should say that because I am getting the most varied assortment of tasks. Other Blc03, Blc03 oumuamua, Blc04, Blc05, lots to choose from ... Stephen :) |

. . In the GPU queue the blc05, blc24, one blc04 and one blc03 oumuamua are resends (_2,_3), the other Blc04s are _0 and _1, but the CPU queue moves much more slowly and it is filled with blc04s that are _0 or _1. So that will slowly change over the next 24 hours I am sure. I cannot fit everything on the screen so the filename column is scrunched and I normally cannot see that part of it :( Stephen .. |

Ok I don't know what is going on now, at 7:44am PST My PC started losing its mind on Seti@Home, so I stopped the whole program, reloaded both Boinc 7.83 and Lunatics, and that got the wu's working properly again, must have had a file go bad, now though the server is saying "You don't have a usable version of V8 in your app_info file", I'm not doing cpu work, just work on the gpu 2 at a time, since I think 1 of 2 fans is not working on My cpu cooler, what is going on with the server? My app info file was generated by Lunatics, except for the count, everything is stock. 53 SETI@home 12/29/2017 8:28:50 AM Message from server: Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of SETI@home v8. I don't think so, the OS loads fine, among other things, just seti going nuts, or at least the server, I'm running what I think is the latest version of Lunatics 0.45 SoG b6 on the gpu, I checked arkayn has not updated the file from b6, though the date is Dec 3rd 2017, if He has a new one I don't know where it is. I could download b6 again and reinstall from there, it wouldn't hurt any. http://lunatics.kwsn.info/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=507 Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The installer I'm using with lunatics is 0.45, which is newer than 0.44. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

You said you're not doing any CPU work, but did you select a CPU app when you did the Lunatics install? If not, that might explain the warning message you're getting. |

You said you're not doing any CPU work, but did you select a CPU app when you did the Lunatics install? If not, that might explain the warning message you're getting. @ Jeff Buck: I checked, just gpu usage, I even reinstalled the Lunatics 0.45b6 from a fresh download, I'll know in 10-15mins. I had one file abort on its own cause the max memory limit of 4888.27 MB was not enough for one file, that seemed to want 5111.xx MB for some reason, I tried to enlarge that with no success, My physical memory is 16GB of 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz ram running at 1866MHz. @ Juan BFP: Mikeworld is for sale, I downloaded the new 0.45b6 Lunatics file from arkayn's site instead. Mikeworld is for sale, I downloaded the new 0.45b6 Lunatics file from arkayn's site instead. I went there, the domain is for sale at Mikeworld, there are no files there, unless the link is bad and I wound up in an alternet universe, so I dled from Arkayn after learning that. I have not seen the "you don't have a valid version of V8" show since 10:34am, it's now 10:57am, so I think the problem is resolved, I deleted the old Lunatics 0.45b6 zip file from 2016 too. You are trying to go to Mike's old address. Try http://mikesworld.eu/download.html instead. Alternate universe it would seem. SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |
