I have been reading various threads on Mr. Kevvy's GUPPI rescheduler. I am still a little confused about some of things surrounding the rescheduler concept:

1) I have downloaded V 0.51 of Mr. Kevvy's GUPPI rescheduler, is this the latest version?
2) I have not had much success with finding the Qopt frontend, I tried the FTP site from Jimbocous but could not get the download to work, in Winodws Explorer I can make a network connection to the FTP site, enter a userid of qopt but it never asks for a password and the folder opened is empty. Maybe some security feature is preventing FTP?
3) I can manage to write a simple script, can I do the equivalent of Qopt using BOINCCMD command line calls?
4) Do you get much positive benefit from this? I can see GUPPIs are slower on the GPU, I estimate by 2 minutes, but you lose some processing time when you shutdown BONIC as the workunit checkpiont seems to be around 3 minutes as far as I can tell which means I could lose 12*3 minutes at each BOINC shutdown.
5) I saw references to bunkering work for the maintenance slot, is this possible on Windows as I thought the rescheduler moved one CPU for one GPU?

Many thanks

Hi David,
1) Yes, that is the latest Mr. Kevvy Rescheduler.
2) You might try shooting a PM directly to Jimbocous and ask for the latest Qopt.zip
3)Don't think so.
4)I think so. At least in my case and others probably will express the same opinion that it is helpful to run specific tasks on the most optimized hardware for the specific task.
5)Later tools like Laurent's CPU2GPU and others move tasks in both directions. That is how bunkering is possible for Tuesday's outage. You move GPU tasks to the CPU on Monday night and then move them back to the GPU during the outage.

Search for the CPU2GPU links for another tool. I think it is in the same Rescheduler thread.

The latest ReScheduler had a move option too. I forget the switch now, but it will be in the notes. And not sure if it was in one direction, or both.

Yes, it is called the Overload option.

[Edit] Just looked. The latest Rescheduler is Mr. Kevvy's 0.52 (with Overload)
