Thank you for letting us know. I was wondering why I only had AstroPulse7 as a task option |

We don't have to wait for the full fix before starting to split again, but the point at which we can split will probably be sometime tomorrow. Until then, we only have a few re-dos and a little bit of astropulse to do. I guess not yet :) still no tasks :( I want to find E.T muahaha |

I thought the reason there was no work was because we'd found E.T. Oh well, on with the search. {How do I get my profile picture to show up next to my name?} |

Well I don't like Win10. I have nothing to hide, but I wonder how much it spies on us. Firefox is (was) great at blocking adverts and pop-ups but it freezes all the time, even on this new PC with solid state drives. So I use Edge, and the amount of adverts I get is unreal. I buy a watch off a popular site and from then on, every time I open my Edge browser I'm seeing adverts from that site down both sides of the screen. I don't care how much spying it does as long as it catches the bad people in this world, but to use the information just for adverts seems a bit of a waste to me. It'd be like buying a massive 3D TV just to watch your VHS tapes on. :( |

I always thought ET was a documentary, and Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind was a follow up to his leaving.... |

I'm usually able to ride out these outages by keeping a maximum sized cache on my computers but my phone, which doesn't keep a large one, has run out. Anyone know of any other active projects that support x86 Android? Thanks. |

I'm under the impression that Collatz does pre 5.0 Android (or non-PIE, anyway, which is effectively the same thing at this point) x86; I have a 5.0 x86 tablet but it wouldn't run their app. |

There has been some stirring on the server, the show will begin shortly. . . . |

No, don't think so. Lights have been turned out at the Lab me thinks. They have some phantom process working in the background slowly building up the RTS buffer without any splitters running. The scheduler is offline still so no way to get access to the MB tasks anyway. Think we will have to wait for tomorrow before getting any work. Justine, The words on the button tell you what will happen if you click it. I can understand how it confuses you. At one time, it would have confused me as well. (I have long suspected I have a little bit of autism myself, but I've never been tested for it.) I have two suggestions: 1. (Wait until there is work again.) Try clicking it and see what the effect is, then try it the other way and see what that effect is. (You won't see these effects immediately; you'll have to do it and then check back hours or days later.) Then just remember it. 2. Switch to Advanced View. Under the Advanced menu, click Event Log... A new window will open, telling you everything that has happened with Boinc since it started up (probably the last time your computer rebooted). When you go back to the main window and click the No/Allow new tasks button, the log will show you what you've done. As for deciding what work units to download, you can decide (on your account preferences pages here on the web site) whether you want regular Seti, Astropulse, or both, but no one has any more control than that. Random assignment is part of the project's scientific architecture. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Hello Justine, there are no constructive answers to such questions - but things remain as they are - the seti community could be so exciting - but it remains boring and boring. Stay curious, ask and annoy. I do it too https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=81990&postid=1892131 Greetings Klaus |

On the matter of clicking the red x on your own post,... This isn't Facebook or Twitter. No automated statistics are kept of your "offensive" posts. If someone else reports one of your posts as offensive, the moderator who handles the report can manually look at your history, but if they see that you requested that one of your own posts be hidden and the reason why, they won't hold it against you. It looks like I have started receiving new jobs now. It is good as my faster rigs and even some of my not so fast had run dry. Rich |

Rich You might have picked up some a while back, but for several hours now the Scheduling server has been shut down. Without that running, no matter how much work there might be ready to send, it can't be sent out. Grant Darwin NT |
