It's not easy to be the Speaker of the Swedish Parliament when to accept a Prime Minister after an election.
Andreas Norlén had to drink coffe with 8 candidates in one day!

Here "Fika" (coffe break) is mandatory when meeting.

Hi Byron!

What are your October plans, Vic?

Repairing the gas furnace and repairing a desk lamp, the desk lamp is mostly done, but of course the maker clamped the wires in instead of tying the wires in a knot, so I'd have to drill that out or cut under the clamp to open the hole up, so for a while I'm without a desk lamp. What's stopping Me? The round part circled in red, I can't get it out. And to transfer My PC to the new desk, at least I have one more item off the old desk.

The Nielson Ratings people just called me a few minutes ago while I was watching the New Will & Grace show, and asked me a series of questions about my radio listening, and at the end of the survey they told me they were going to send me $5, plus a tv watching diary to fill out, next week. Pretty fun. I didn't mind that telemarketing call. ;~)

Lady of the Lake:)

An eight-year-old Swedish-American girl named Saga, came across an exciting find swimming at her local lake, when she pulled an ancient sword from its depths.
So now Saga is the new Queen of all the viking territory. Scandinavia, Russia, Ukraine, U.K. and Canada. A new world order,:)

World War I armistice centenary to be marked with 62,000 handmade poppies at Australian War Memorial.
About two million man and woman hours have been committed to a stunning display at the Australian War Memorial.
A field of 62,000 poppies, each one representing an Australian life lost in World War I, has been unveiled in Canberra, with each handcrafted flower telling its own story.
Every poppy "planted" outside the War Memorial is unique in background and appearance, made by volunteers as far afield as Turkey and France, where so much Australian blood was shed.

The scattered placement of the field replicates how Australian soldiers fell and the way real poppies spring up in random patterns.
The display was the vision of Lynn Berry, who set out to make 120 poppies to commemorate her father's service in World War II.
That was in 2012.

Since then, some went back to France in 2016 for the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Fromelles, while others have had less arduous journeys to flower shows around Australia.
On Friday, the sea of red, faded red, green and any other flourishes the volunteers chose to include, was the realisation of a six-year dream.
"We started this project on such a small scale and it became huge," Ms Berry said.

And for something slightly different,

Guerrilla gardener plants 35,000 tulips destined for the bin in Melbourne's Hosier lane.
[quote]Under the cover of darkness, thousands of tulips that were destined for the bin have been brought in to fill one of Melbourne's most colourful laneways.
Hosier Lane was transformed on Friday as 35,000 beautiful orange blooms lined the graffiti-covered bluestone street.
Joost Bakker was the guerilla gardener responsible for the splash of spring colour which brought joy to the city on a beautiful sunny day. He said he couldn't bear to see the flowers from his family's farm near Monbulk, east of Melbourne, dumped in the skip. "They weren't good enough to be bunched and sold so I said, 'Well, bugger that, we'll put them in a laneway in the city'."

Virginia man’s 254-pound watermelon sets new state fair record
Hank Houston, of Spotsylvania County, recently broke the State Fair of Virginia's record for largest watermelon with his massive 254-pound gourd, according to the Associated Press. The watermelon also won first prize at the fair.

Houston said the fruit was grown from the seed of the previous record holder, which weighed 245 pounds and was owned by his friend.
