Message 1954210 - Posted: 7 Sep 2018, 5:43:46 UTC - in response to Message 1954042.

I've had some plumbing and electrical work done too, I had a few electrical outlets replaced and 18-20 to be replaced since 1 outlet melted a couple of wires(that is what the electrician said, not Me), the outlets were ones that Fleetwood installed back in 1987 and these ones have no screws on the sides, just slots on the back, My electrician thinks these are garbage and He's exactly right too,

Same here over the past two weeks. House built in 1952, with an addition in 1955. Moved in 10 years ago when downsizing from a large family house we didn't need anymore and we paid cash for.

Had what we thought was a minor electrical problem with the patio., but NO! Most outlets, as yours, were burnt and a bad fire awaited. Just finished expensive, but necessary upgrade and rewiring.

Someone cut some corners to make some money, yep same here. I bought the place in late 2006, then in 2009 Fleetwood went bankrupt, the state in 2009 also added a statewide minimum width law, most places require a minimum width of 20' and to be 10 years old or less to be on private land or within their jurisdiction, in this area it's 14' that is the minimum width, Fleetwood advertised the Westfield as 14'x60' in size, My place measures 13.5'x60' in size... My place is now a nearly worthless park model...

When American police cars are mentioned one thinks of fast, sleek, like Dodge Chargers, or practical like Ford Explorers.

The word "Smart" probably doesn't crop up often

Spotted today near Brooklyn Bridge.

I didn't know they were using those! ~Practical for tight maneuvering in traffic, I guess.

The police cars here in Louisville were Ford Crown Victoria's for many years. I'm not sure what they use nowadays.

Back in the day, I was a cop with NYPD for 20 years. When assigned to Manhattan, there were no long involved car chases. Because neither the bad guys, nor the police, could quickly move through Manhattan traffic.

When responding to an emergency. It was, many times, the cops on scooters who arrived first. Because we, in our large police cars, were stuck. Roof lights and loud sirens were only partially successful.

This 'little' car would have been most helpful :)

I think NYC's traffic jams are legendary, out here a long narrow concrete or asphalt parking lot would come close.

My 1999 Ford Escort zx2 Sport Hot Coupe gets 37.33mpg, but then I use a K&N air filter, Royal Purple 5w30 motor oil, platinum spark plugs, and T-rated tires(112mph max, the car won't do more than 105mph).
And is part '90-'98 Mazda(323, MX3, Protege). Stock for My 2.0L DOHC engine is 130hp. I just count the miles on the trip meter, if I've set it, vs gallons of gasoline consumed. YMMV.

I had to clear My cookies on bing.com to get this pic, the site was flashing on and off, problem fixed. Note: The taillights used on this zx2 are aftermarket.
And I did get the rear struts replaced today, there went $162.00 and this was for labor only as I already had a new pair waiting to be installed.

10 Technological Marvels from the 20th Century that Today's Kids Don't Know What to Do With
Those of us who grew up in the last half of the 20th century know that we haven’t always been so spoiled. In fact, plenty of technology that we grew up with has become obsolete and foreign to younger generations.

What next?

Mother arrested for taking phone away from teenage daughter
HUDSONVILLE, Michigan (KTRK) -- A Michigan mother arrested after stealing her teen daughter's cell phone as a form of discipline has been vindicated.

The Ottawa County prosecutor dismissed the charges against the woman on Tuesday. However, there are questions as to why she was arrested in the first place.

"I would like answers on why it got so far and how it got this far, where this happened within my home. I'm disciplining my child, then I'm being the one handcuffed," Jodie May told WOOD-TV.

And now for something completely different, Drummer boy becomes local curiosity after regular appearances playing on side of busy road.

On a barren strip of road outside a major university campus, a lone drummer is seen setting up a drum kit several times a week. As he starts to play, passing cars honk their horns. A pedestrian smiles and throws him a few dollars — but he is not busking.
While living with his parents in Bermagui, on the New South Wales' South Coast, 18-year-old Finley Ford started playing drums.
When he moved onto campus accommodation at the beginning of the year, to start his first year of engineering at the University of Wollongong (UOW), he realised he needed to find a new place to play.

When I tell the salon lady "make me look 19" she says, "I'm a beautician, not a magician".

Add a little color and you could pull it off.
