Hey, My computer's been randomly dropping into monitor only sleep mode these 1-2 weeks. I've isolated the problem to Boinc's seti@home gpu usage. I'm suspended GPU usage for 2 days now and The above hasn't happened. Running a gtx 1070 w/ driver version 388.0 , windows 10 64 1709, build 16299.19. Anybody else getting similar issues? |

Are you running the BOINC screen saver? I've had problems on some of my rigs with the monitors behaving erratically. I've opted out of the screen savers and it seems to help. But these were legacy rigs running XP or Win 7. |

Nope. I've not used any screen savers, boinc or otherwise, for years, so it's unlikely the problem. I'm wondering if it's a BOINC problem, or a seti@home problem though. Maybe I should find another project that uses the gpu as well to test it. |

My screen goes into the mode where it shows the technical info on the computer only. Such as temperature, fans running, etc. It had been doing it for 8 hours. |

I have a similar problem. When I try to wake the screen, it flashes briefly on and then off again in 2-3 second intervals. This has been going on for about a month now. Now I have set the screen to never sleep and use a blank screensaver. Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it... |

Are you running Win10? As they are depreciating the screen saver, since they haven't been necessary since LCD monitors became the norm, that could be the cause. Grant Darwin NT |

No, I'm running Win7 x64. My first attempt at fixing the issue was updating to the latest Nvidia driver. There was some mention of similar monitor problems on the Nvidia forums. According to Nvidia, those should be fixed. Didn't work for me, though. I have not tested if the problem has anything to do with BOINC/Seti, though. Edit : The symptoms are there whether BOINC/Seti is running or not. This would indicate that BOINC/Seti is not the culprit. Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it... |

My sugestion: DL the latest NVidia driver for your card, directly from NVidia site. Install the driver with clean instalation Restart your host Test Can´t hurt.... LOL |

My sugestion: Oh yes, it can ! Installed the latest NVidia driver with clean install, and the screen was almost impossible to wake. It took several hot reboots to get it back to normal. Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it... |

Installed the latest NVidia driver with clean install, and the screen was almost impossible to wake. It took several hot reboots to get it back to normal. Do you have another monitor lying about? It's looking like a hardware issue- video card or monitor are most likely. The monitor is a lot easier to rule out. It could be an issue with my systems, but I don't use the system Power settings to turn them off. If i'm there i'm using them, when i'm done I turn the monitor itself off. Grant Darwin NT |

For my problem, it seems the solution was incredibly simple. For some reason, the monitor was set to Generic PnP with an incredibly old driver. Reloading the LG-spesific drivers seems to have solved the problem....at least for now. Time will show if it holds up. Humans may rule the world...but bacteria run it... |
