Well, after hours of 'no tasks available', I've suddenly got about 40 tasks download, including 3 AP tasks (2 for GPU). I won't tempt fate though.

Every 1.5 to 2 hours I'm picking up some work, but it's been 99% Arecibo, so it won't last long till the GPUs are out till the server(s) can be given a kick.

I'm back to the network error 500 messages again. Out of work entirely. When requested and there was an error, I got now work. I just tried the kick start method thinking I should give it a shot, I got the network error message.

I see.
So that's why I get home from work and find my GPUs on GPUGrid instead of Seti.

Meowsigh.

I'm back to the network error 500 messages again. Out of work entirely. When requested and there was an error, I got now work. I just tried the kick start method thinking I should give it a shot, I got the network error message.

Still just getting "Project has no tasks available" with the odd WU making through every few hours.

Sit back and wait - there's nothing that can be done until someone gets into the lab, and that will probably be in about 7 or 8 hours time - then another hour or so of head scratching.
Look on the bright side - we are saving on our power bills!

I don't like the looks of WU 2739307008. One host successfully downloaded and ran it. Everybody else is getting D/L errors on it, 5 hosts so far. My machine's Event Log shows:
Anybody else run into one (or more) of these today?

. . First I would have had to have received any downloads at all :(

. . I shut the rigs down because I was going to be away for 10 hours and was receiving NO work at all. Now that I am back I am still receiving no work at all ... :(

Stephen

I just downloaded the WU manually and didn't seem to have any errors. The file doesn't appear to be truncated, either, ending with "</workunit>" as the last line.
I just downloaded it as well. I got a manual MD5 of 450a32005c6700d7ab95284edc959572, the same as BOINC calculated for yours: that would suggest that the MD5 stored in the database when the file was created (so that the comparison can be done) might be corrupted.

EXCEPT: the person who downloaded the _0 replication got a clean download. _1 was a file size error (my download was 720,530 bytes, which is close enough without knowing the precise number of bytes expected): all the others got the MD5 error.

Which suggests that something was messing with, either, the database MD5 values, or, the stored files on disk. Neither really bears thinking about, and both are a long way outside our control. As Rob says, take the day off.

At least some people have gotten lucky.
The AP Ready-to-send has taken a huge hit- from a high of 7k down to 4.5k in no time at all.

I've done the email sending thing to the staff about the MD5 problem, which worries me. Work not being allocated will probably cure itself with the standard "have you switched it off and switched it back on again?" advice. I'll leave our two (so far) new thread starters to find the general discussion here.

. . Hi Richard,

. . Unless you mean re-starting the servers at HQ that is a big NO! I have restarted BOINC, restarted the computers, and nothing makes one little bit of difference.

. . But I have taken the opportunity to use the last few tasks on board to trigger resends of a few ghosted tasks I have accumulated.. I have 40 left and hope top get them in the next couple of attempts.

Stephen

Unless someone has done one of those undocumented "Just one small change" jobs and walked away without testing - we've had them before and I'm sure we will have them again :-(

It looks as if someone is in doing something - the timestamps on the SSP show that (some) of the data is over 50 minutes old. Maybe the tyre-kicker has started his rounds - we can but hope.
