Not exactly (or even near) the Ring of Fire the south western end of Iceland (not the UK supermarket) is in the midst of an earthquake swarm with upwards of 2000 quakes in the last 48 hours; with a 5.4 as the biggest so far.
https://en.vedur.is/earthquakes-and-volcanism/earthquakes/reykjanespeninsula/

(The 5.4 did a fair number on the contents of a bar....)

Looks like the Fagradalsfjall chain is waking up. Eruption warnings are out.

Iceland have not declared a volcano alert, only a "warning" alert for rockfalls in (on) the Reykjanes peninsula (the south western area of Iceland).
Increased risk of rockfall is in Reykjanesskagi and has been reported in the area. People are advised to be careful on steep slopes, near sea cliffs and avoid areas where rocks can fall.

Note:
"Reykjanesskagi" is the Icelandic word for the Reykjanes peninsula. "skagi" roughly translates as "peninsula"

After a few days of shaking and stirring the Martini Iceland now has the trots.... A new vent (or more?) has opened up a couple of km north east of last year's eruption. Several live streams are active.

Things are restless ATM.

Powerful earthquake kills one person, injures 11 in Indonesia's Sumatra.

A strong and shallow earthquake has shaken Indonesia's Sumatra island, killing one person and injuring 11 others while damaging more than a dozen houses and buildings.

The magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck on Saturday about 40 kilometres north-east of Sibolga, a coastal city in North Sumatra province, according to the US Geological Survey.

It was 13km deep.

The pre-dawn earthquake was followed by two 5.0 magnitude aftershocks.

A 62-year-old man died of a heart attack while fleeing to safety in Tarutung village, which is closest to the epicentre, local police chief Johanson Sianturi said.

As well as injuring 11 others in the village, the earthquake damaged at least 15 houses and buildings.

Authorities were still investigating the full extent of the damage....

A bit more shaking going on.

Large 5.1-magnitude earthquake rocks San Francisco Bay Area, aftershocks expected.

Four small aftershocks have rattled northern California since Tuesday's large magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck east of San Jose, according to the California Geological Survey, which warned residents to expect more shaking in the coming days....
Stay safe.

Cheers.

Russian volcanoes glow as scientists brace for major eruptions on Kamchatka Peninsula.

Towering clouds of ash and glowing lava are spewing from two volcanoes on Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula and scientists say major eruptions could be on the way.

The peninsula, which extends into the Pacific Ocean about 6,600 kilometres east of Moscow, is one of the world's most concentrated areas of geothermal activity, with about 30 active volcanoes.

The sudden new activity followed a strong earthquake on Saturday, news reports said.

The Russian Academy of Sciences' vulcanology institute said that at Klyuchevskaya Sopka, which at 4,754 meters is Eurasia's tallest active volcano, as many as 10 explosions an hour were being recorded....
Cheers.

Things appear to becoming rather active again.

Earthquake 'swarm' data in Mukinbudin studied to understand seismic activity in WA's Wheatbelt region
Geoscience experts are hoping a cluster of earthquakes that have struck the Wheatbelt over the past seven days may help reveal the reasons for the region's geological instability.
Thirteen quakes were recorded in and around Mukinbudin, 300 kilometres east of Perth, over the past week. The largest reached a magnitude of 3.2, with the majority of the others in the magnitude-2 range.

Deadly 5.6 magnitude earthquake hits Indonesia
The quake struck Cianjur in West Java, some 75km south-east of the capital, Jakarta. Local official Herman Suherman said up to 20 people had died, and 300 more were injured.
"This is from one hospital, there are four hospitals in Cianjur," he told MetroTV. He said it was possible the death and injury toll could rise.

The national disaster agency has confirmed at least 14 deaths.

Just in.

Tsunami warning issued as earthquake strikes Solomon Islands.

A magnitude-7.0 earthquake, with a depth of 10 kilometres, has struck Malango in the Solomon islands, the United States Geological Survey said.

The Solomon Islands prime minister's office has advised people to move to higher ground.

A tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake.
