Exit BOINC, restart it, check the Event log to see if it makes a Scheduler request, if not then click on Update in the manager, then post the detail from the Event log so we can see what's happening.

EDIT- on the Project tab, check that "No new tasks" hasn't been selected.

9/29/2017 9:04:04 PM | SETI@home | Scheduler request failed: Couldn't resolve host name

Ok, for some reason, on that request it couldn't find the scheduler.

9/29/2017 9:06:36 PM | SETI@home | Reporting 200 completed tasks
9/29/2017 9:06:36 PM | SETI@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA GPU

And for that one, it made contact, but got nothing back.

The other issue is the build up of WUs to report- for a long time I've had issues reporting large numbers of WUs at a time, and have to limit it to 60.

If you already have a cc_config.xml file in your Program Data\BOINC directory, add
<max_tasks_reported>60</max_tasks_reported>
to it, save and ext. Exit BOINC, restart, then try an update & see if it can report some of those WUs.

If not, create a text file called cc_config.xml in the Program Data\BOINC directortyand put this in it
<cc_config>
    <options>
        <max_tasks_reported>60</max_tasks_reported>
    </options>
</cc_config>

Save it, exit & restart BOINC as above. Good luck.

9/29/2017 9:44:09 PM | SETI@home | Scheduler request failed: Server returned nothing (no headers, no data)

Still having issues actually contacting the Scheduler.

I'd suggest re-booting the computer (if it hasn't already been done).
The other systems are using the same modem/router to contact Seti? If not, i'd re-boot that too (might even be worth rebooting it anyway- if 2 other systems are on it & OK it shouldn't be an issue, but weirder things have happened).

If it's still broken, then in
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
you'll find your Hosts file.

If you open that up and enter
208.68.240.118	setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu	# upload server Oct 2016
208.68.240.119	boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu		# download server Oct 2016
208.68.240.126	setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu	# scheduler Oct 2016

that will bypass the DNS (Domain Name Server) and any caching issue that might be occurring and contact the Scheduler (and other servers) directly.
Save, exit & restart BOINC.

If it's still borked, hopefully someone else will have an idea what's going on.
My only other wild arse guess would be to re-install BOINC- the firewall might be blocking Scheduler requests for some reason (made any changes or updates to AV or Internet security software recently?) and that would be the easiest way to re-enable traffic.

Did you run the BOINC repair option from the BOINC install site?

Then the only other thing that comes to mind is some 3rd party Internet Security or AV software interfering. If possible, disable it, or uninstall it. See if BOINC can then contact the Scheduler OK.
After a re-boot of the computer and Modem/router, and the IP address in the hosts file, that's about all that's left to stop the software from being able to contact the Scheduler.

Another thing to try. The DNS client on your PC will automatically cache IP addresses, maybe something has gone wrong with the SETI IP addresses in your cache.

Open a Command Window on your PC (search for cmd.exe)

At the command prompt in the Command Window type

ipconfig /displaydns | find "seti"

press return and it should display three record names for:

setiathome.berkeley.edu
setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu
setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu

Then try to rebuild your IP address cache at the command prompt in the Command Window type

ipconfig /flushdns

press return

In BOINC manager do a manual update on the SETI project.

With the server addresses in the Hosts file, DNS is completely bypassed.

Glad you got it going again.
If you're happy with your current AV software (other than this present hiccup), uninstalling, downloading & installing the most recent release version & then updating it should get it running again. Save you having to figure out the quirks of new software.

Likewise, but it depends on your needs. If you go to risky sites, or have people that insist on sending you emails & links to sites because they've been told "This is important, send it to everyone you know..." then you need heavy duty protection.
But if you don't go to Free software or Porn sites, and don't have people continually emailing nonsense, Windows Defender is more than adequate. Both my parents have hundreds of people on their email lists, and are always getting all sorts of infected emails (or links to infected sites), so they need better AV protection. Unfortunately those programmes all seem to result in a pretty hefty performance hit scanning everything on the fly.

All this Box does is BOINC & a few lite MS games.

If that's true Defender may very well for you, all you have to do is uninstall your present AV, and search for it on you computer and activate it. It's included in W10 and W8.
