Not really, but thanks Carlos. I had My fill of firearms decades ago. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

I hate My PC, why? I've found My video is laggy on websites, not just on Facebook, there I can only like something, unless I restart the browser, and I did that already, and I also pounded My keyboard in frustration. I do need a better Nvidia card, better than this GTX 580, and yes the driver is recent, it's 376.33. Yeah I'm watching one on ebay, either an Asus 970 Turbo(a White and Red video card), or an EVGA GTX 970 Founders Edition FE with GTX 980 Ti Hybrid Shroud/WaterCooling, but for the moment I can do nothing, besides watch. I could be wrong, but...... I doubt that it has anything to do with the video card, Vic. I think that just watching videos is well within the processing capabilities of even rather old cards. It's probably either crunching Seti on the card is too much whilst trying to view videos, or your CPU is maxed out. I get lag sometimes when watching vids on my 980. And it's because the CPU is running at 100%. Have you checked usage of the GPU and CPU when you have this problem? You are running Win7 Pro 64, just like my daily driver. It has a CPU/RAM monitor widget. Bring that up and see how your CPU is doing when you have the problem. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Like Mark I don't think it is the GPU or the CPU as I can watch video's and live TV streams on my old laptop. That has a celery cpu and intel gpu. |

I have the same problem. If I want to watch flicker free video I need to pause Boinc. And I am running twin 1060's. |

I suspend GPU use, if I want to do anything more than play cards, which also frees a needed CPU core. Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

You could also try to see if suspending BOINC network activity helps . |

I've seen you have a fast connection. Here's some tools to check your connection. http://www.dslreports.com/tools https://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php I have to stop SETI to watch streaming videos running i7-6700K 4GHz, 64GB ram with two 1080s. ... |

I could be wrong, but...... Well when this happened I was not crunching, nor watching a video, the card has 1.5GB on board, My motherboard has 16GB @ 1866MHz, and 1866MHz is not overclocked either, if it were Sandy Bridge instead of Ivy Bridge, then 1866 would be, 1866 is just an interesting tidbit. My GPU is an old PNY LC GTX 580, runs at 857 MHz. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

If you were not watching a video, then by "I've found My video is laggy on websites" you are saying the image of a static web page took a while to load? That most certainly has nothing to do with the video card. Nothing at all. The video card will render that before you even have time to blink once the data is fed to it. Look elsewhere, Vic. A different video card is not going to fix this. Meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

What is your CPU and RAM usage doing on the widget I told you about when this problem occurs? It's in Control Panel/Desktop Gadgets. Meow? "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

What is your CPU and RAM usage doing on the widget I told you about when this problem occurs? Well Windows Task Manager, on the Performance Tab says cpu usage is in the weeds, so lots of room, across 8 cores, 4 have almost nothing, and 4 have weeds, it's a 4820K cpu. At least right now, I'll let you know. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

What is your CPU and RAM usage doing on the widget I told you about when this problem occurs? Try ditching the fake 8 cores in your bios and run it as the 4 core that it actually is. It's a 3.7Ghz processor, not too shabby at all. See if that helps things at all. Meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Try ditching the fake 8 cores in your bios and run it as the 4 core that it actually is. And whilst you are at it, after you reboot, check CPUZ. Make sure it is running at 3.7Ghz and not being throttled by anything. Especially under load after it heats up a bit. Like when you are running Seti on the CPU. Meow. Try ditching the fake 8 cores in your bios and run it as the 4 core that it actually is. Yep. At least it's not the 1650 v2 @ 3.5GHz(130w), the 1650 is in the Asus Rampage IV Black(no case yet), that is a 6/12 cpu, as is a 1366 cpu, which is a 5675 that I have, though the ram would be overclocked at 1866, the 3.06GHz 5675(95w) supports up to a 1333 stock clock. It's too bad the older X3480 is only a 4/8 cpu, though it does 3.06GHz(95w). Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Try ditching the fake 8 cores in your bios and run it as the 4 core that it actually is. OK....so you now have 4 full cores running at 3.7Ghz, correct? Check CPUZ again. Check the memory and SPD tabs. Does the memory tab show the RAM running at what the SPD indicates it should be? "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |
