I have a Sperry Circuit Tester which also tests GFCI, no need for an electrician to test, just to install, once I've got the breakers, and to install some new circuits, and any needed outlets, boxes, and 14/3 gauge romex wire.

What that sort of simple tester won't tell you is the state of the wiring and installation. Those things are great for checking that things are connected to the corret terminals but of no use at detecting highrer than normal point to point impedances caused by loose incorectly tightened terminals, damaged conductors, failing insulation and all the other invisible faults that electricians should look for when checking an installation prior to undertaking any modification work.

The wiring in My factory built house is fine, if there was a problem, it would have shown up around the outlets, like in a stick built place, where a small fire did happen at one time before the problem was fixed, before I owned the place.

So get get system properly inspected before doing anything else. None of us want to hear that your place has burnt down due to a wiring fault.

Any ideas of how much it will cost to proof every circuit in a home before any new work is done? Any idea of what that would entails?

And right now I just got thru assembling a TV stand, in December I need to buy some Gorilla Super Glue(Blue), why?

A TV Stand for the 55" TCL 4K TV, that is due here Monday, I'm gonna have to buy some Gorilla Super Glue, cause 3 rubber feet fell off the glass, fortunately this is a diagonal problem for 2 of them, and the TV is about 30lbs, the instructions say this is a 2 man job, I must be close then. The glue will have to wait until around Dec 1st.

Ok thanks to a friend needing a ride, I was able to get some Gorilla Super Glue(Blue tip), I'd thought about the Gel type(Green tip), but that slipped My mind, while I was there I also got some paper towels, for blowing My nose and wiping up any sweat, off of My neck and face, I can sit around and do nothing and this will happen. All since I got sick in October.

Doctor said that I had a little congestion, but that I was otherwise alright.

Now in the morning I should be able to Super Glue the rubber feet to the glass part of the stand. Then it's hurry up and wait for the TV to arrive by Freight on Monday, box and TV is 46lbs, the TV only 30lbs from what I've read, My nightmare is almost over, except for the sweating and such...

Denti-Cal sent Me a letter, I can get a sorely needed Deep Cleaning, Laboratory Crowns, Partial Dentures, Root Canals in Back Teeth, more types of exams, and if Medically needed go over the $1,800.00 yearly limit, as of Jan 1st 2018, I know of a Dentist already too.

So that is why you need a 50' extension cord to run your TV? Your little test gadget wont tell you if you have pinched wire that is tripping a breaker.

My car which needed the 4 new tires mounted, and had not ever had a new Serpentine Belt put on the car since I owned it or in 10 years time, so I thought I better do that now, that belt controls everything, quite literally.

Basic electrical check, drop it, it wasn't your decision to make.

And I get criticized for My decisions not meeting your standards, well I got news for you, it wasn't up to you.

I have lived here since late 2006, when needed I did the repairs, a new switch was needed, or a GFCI outlet, or changing the direction of another GFCI outlet that was installed upside down.

My sister said as I was leaving, that I was sweating, it did not look normal to Her, She is a retired RN.

I have trouble breathing at times.

I have a hernia, actually 2, 1 is My left rib cage, the other, a hiatal hernia has to do with My stomach and its and My lungs, and My parents and brother said this has affected Me ever since I was 3yrs old, that has gone on uncorrected for 54 years, plus a thyroid that went from 90% output to 100% in the last year or so.

@ everyone - I would also like to know what the UCB policy is on this sort of situation. Are they happy with people being provided a protective cocoon to shield them from real life, to the extent that they are left to live in an insensible manner, even dangerously? I'll look further into it.

So you believe that what you say here will change someone's opinion who lives several thousand miles away.

This is the Internet and unfortunately you cannot always know if what you read here is truth or not.

No one can force anyone to take advice that is offered. Certainly in the US individual freedom is held a lot higher than in the UK. So forcing anyone to take advice, good or bad will not happen.

As everyone here has a right to their own opinions unless rules are broken they can have their say, disagree by all means, but if someone says they are ignoring you, perhaps it is time to move on.

The only real way to stop this is to close down the cafe and just leave the technical threads.

How many would be in favour of this rather than just filtering people out.
