Vic is running an i7-4820K with 16Gb Ram, and a GTX 580. So yes a GTX 980 or 970 would be an big improvement if he has one. Most modern graphics cards do not need water cooling that is for petrol heads into overclocking cpu's and memory, and tweaking BIOS settings to the limits. Sounds flash just costs money and is more trouble than it's worth. And the 580 is one heck of a hot and relatively slow card, to go faster it would need a banana peel. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! Given Vic has a GTX980 (or is it a GTX970?) which has audio over HDMI and by the sound of it is looking to buy a new monitor there are a couple of solutions. If the new monitor only has dvi then put the gtx9x0 into service and use the dvi output from that, getting a suitable adaptor if/when the x-box arrives. The next is to get an HDMI monitor, use the gtx9x0 HDMI output, and again if the x- arrives either use the second HDMI input on the monitor or get a simply HDMI input switch if required. The Samsung TV has 4 HDMI ports, a USB port, Ethernet, and does 1920x1080, at least it will after the spare psu board is repaired and installed, once I pay the $94.95 to ShopJimmy.com, once I do that I'll get a FedEx shipping label to print out and attach to the shipping box, then wait for FedEx, the repairs have a 180 day warranty, they have 1yr and 2yr warranties at extra cost, but $94.95 is what I can spare for the moment, so that is that. The video card I'm interested in is an Asus 970 Turbo. I've found no matter how good a filter is, cat hair and some dust will always get past whatever defense one has against dust. I need to try and get an Asus 970 Turbo card for this PC in February(or March at the latest) If you worry about the elecy bill then forget the 970 and get a 1060. It will be cheaper in the long run. |

I need to try and get an Asus 970 Turbo card for this PC in February(or March at the latest) That would take longer to get, $189 I should be able to do by February for an Asus 970 turbo on ebay, an Asus 1060 turbo would take until March, the 1060 is $274 currently, marked down from $299 on Amazon, $274.99 or so on Newegg@ebay. The biggest thing on My electric bill is that a/c unit, but since I have OA, I need it, the swamp cooler is not very effective on humid days, and on other days, well I'm so close to it that My OA is hard to control, I take 8hr tylenol for OA, and normally I take naproxen sodium too, but since I had a flu shot, and I need My body to be immune to the flu, so the naproxen sodium is out until Oct 30th, then I can take both again, the 8hr tylenol also keeps My body temp under control, since without it, I can sweat without doing anything, I feel like I'm melting, not the most enjoyable way to lose weight, for a long time My thyroid was only working at 90%, now it's working at 100%, I suspect being exposed to 2nd hand smoke for decades did this, though that is only speculation on My part, I've not had any 2nd hand smoke since 1998, so what do I know... And that is the only thing that I can think of on why My thyroid is doing this. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Why not take a card from the project m/c you'e been building for 2 years? It was too hard to get in there, the case is bowed a bit, so I'd rather leave it there. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Items found on ebay, uk site but absolutely certain they will be available in US. HDMI to HDMI & Optical SPDIF + RCA L/R 1080P 5.1CH Audio Extractor Converter 5V £3.99 (about $5) and 5 Port HDMI Switch Switcher Splitter Full HD for HDTV DVD PS3 + IR Remote £2.85 (about $3.50) Connect computer GPU o/p and Xbox to the switch. Connect o/p of switch to splitter input. connect hdmi o/p of splitter to monitor and connect speakers to the phono skts. If you use a set-top box for TV reception then that could also be connected to the switch. |

Items found on ebay, uk site but absolutely certain they will be available in US. A set top box has HDMI output, Xbox One has HDMI input, pass thru, and output, so a switch is not needed. Still no call from My friend who is in the Hospital ER, He has the same problem that I had, blood in urine, and being painful while urinating. His wife is with Him at least, and if He is light enough in weight He might have surgery in Barstow CA... Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Hi Joker...sorry, I mean zoom314. Long time no see. You should let your friends know how you came to own a Mustang in the past. And that you bought brand new at the time. And why you are now driving what you are now. And remember... on the internet...you can be whomever you say you are. As long as people believe it...it`s true. :) Talk to you soon. Miss you buddy. |

I won't be shamed, by you, or by any SOB... Like why? The SSA knows all about it, everything was above board and transparent. If you think I'm guilty of having a right to privacy, you are sadly wrong, a right to privacy is not a crime, it's a Constitutionally guaranteed right, and since I have not committed a crime, Back off. I won't be shamed, by you, or by any SOB... No, it's old history, I do not have to get approval from the public, don't like that? Tough... My rights are the same as yours Mark, er kittyman, I can ask the same thing... Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

I won't be shamed, by you, or by any SOB... LOL.....that's a chuckle. Vic, I have taken all my skeletons out of the closet and put them on display here on Seti. Closet is empty now. And I sometimes like old history. Why don't you tell us a story? Meow? "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

I won't be shamed, by you, or by any SOB... No, I do not have to justify anything, it was between the SSA and Me, it's called the 5th Amendment of the US Constitution, I have a right to privacy, and since no crime was ever committed, this is the end of this, fair warning, the next post on this subject will not be tolerated. Or what you'll sick the gestapo on Me? This country needs to be denazified, like Germany was. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

A Surge Protector, a Carbon Monoxide detector, the vacuum cleaner cord is plugged into the New Surge Protector, the outlet is now fixed. I had to dig up a 2" long screw too. A 2" long panhead screw was used to secure the surge protector to the old outlet, it's not perfect, but this does work, and now the CO detector does not fall off the outlet anymore. Progress! It's only 300 Joules, but that is good enough for a light duty outlet. And yep, that's progress, slow yes, but it is dependent on what I'm given. sigh. The Belkin 1250 Joules Surge Protector should be here on Monday, that's for My LG 10,0000 BTU a/c unit. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |
