You haven't Vic otherwise you would be giving wrong assumptions that you are correcting in subsequent posts. To me it looks as if you have seen a few adverts of rates and guessed at a figure. A proper costing would take into account the route, permits and the like. The same goes for the dismantle and re-assmbly costs, service connection charges, legal fees building permits and any taxes liable on that lot.
And before getting any of these costs get some proper advise to find out how much you can really borrow for this move given your current income and expendature including cards, paypal, Amazon loans.

And just where would I get the money to borrow from?

A mortgage would not work, since it would not cover teardown, a personal loan is out as that is expensive.

Maybe a loan shark? Mob money?? /snark.

@Vic - all anyone is trying to do is to give you sensible advice, and suggest solutions that you may not have thought of, or angles that you hadn't considered. There is no need to be rude and use bad language.

@Rob - Vic has decided that he needs that size of TV and that's that. He also is convinced he can move his home 60 miles based on 11 year old data, no quote, and no offer of finance to fund it.

I'm sure we all wish him well in his aims and endeavours, and that things work out the way he wants, but I suggest we drop those two issues as we are clearly flogging a dead horse here.

And I was quoted $20,000.00 to $25,000.00, do you want Me to dig that info up? It was informal, no contracts of course.

And it is My eyesight here, not yours.

Uncalled for don't you think Vic?

Yes it is your eyesight, so lets look at what will happen if you ignore any optical issues:

No more computer builds
No more driving
No more internet forums to particpate in

Of course there is voice software available but that can't drive or build computers.

It seems your journal is nothing but a daily blog where you don't want any sensible comments that go against your wishes. I suggest you use Wordpress, better suited to what you want.

Sensible?

I can have that size if I want to, and who are you to tell Me what I can't have?

There is SB-3 Veterans and Affordable Housing Bond Act of 2018, does mention Manufactured Homes in it. But Cal-Home is not available yet.
https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180SB3

Three hundred million dollars ($300,000,000) to be deposited in the Self-Help Housing Fund established pursuant to Section 50697.1. The moneys in the fund shall be available for the CalHome Program authorized by Chapter 6 (commencing with Section 50650) of Part 2, to provide direct, forgivable loans to assist development projects involving multiple home ownership units, including single-family subdivisions, for self-help mortgage assistance programs, and for manufactured homes. These funds may also be expended for any authorized purpose of this program. At least thirty million dollars ($30,000,000) of the amount deposited in the Self-Help Housing Fund shall be used to provide grants or forgivable loans to assist in the rehabilitation or replacement, or both, of existing mobilehomes located in a mobilehome or manufactured home community. These funds may also be used to provide technical assistance pursuant to Section 54007. Any funds not encumbered for the purposes of this subdivision by November 6, 2028, shall revert for general use in the Multifamily Housing Program authorized by Chapter 6.7 (commencing with Section 50675) of Part 2, unless the Department of Housing and Community Development determines that funds should revert sooner due to diminished demand.

I just emailed a CA Senate Staffer about this.

It seems your journal is nothing but a daily blog where you don't want any sensible comments that go against your wishes.
To be fair, Vic did state the reason for the thread in the first place.

This thread will be a journal of what is going on in my life.
Only positive, supportive replies to my posts are on-topic in this thread.
Posts that are negative or critical will be removed as "off topic" posts.
If you cannot be positive, please do not read my thread or post in my thread.
All Vic seems to want is a place where he can prattle on in his own sweet way about anything and everything without anybody challenging him. Head in the clouds? Walter Mitty? Of course, but that is the way that he is. The official advice from the Mods and the Admin here is to put him on filter if he irritates you. It's his TV, his eyesight, and his housing plans, all he is doing is hurting himself, his choice.

But as responsible citizens we cannot stand aside and see other matters arise that could affect the safety of other innocent people.

Vic says that the 185/60x15 tyre is going on the left front, and the 195/50x15 will be the spare. If he has a puncture on the right front and puts the spare on, it will be illegal. You must not mix tyre sizes on the same axle. It is also an automatic MOT failure in the UK, I know that because mine failed on that point, and I just had to replace a 1/2 worn 155/65 R13 with a new 155/70 R13.

Also he would have a steel rim mixed with an aluminium rim on the same axle, which may also be illegal. If he has a puncture, puts the spare on, then gets stopped by the police, he would be in trouble. If worse he had an accident, the insurance assessor would note it and likely not pay out. Quite apart from which if he has passengers, innocent people could get hurt.

mismatch

They always say change all 4 tyres at once for the same make and correct size, but that is impractical for people on a budget. However one axle at a time is a must, and every 7 years minimum whatever the tread wear, as tyres age. You can't run a car on a shoestring and remain safe and legal. If you have to have a car on a low budget then something else has to go. Eyesight and transport as must haves are more important than would like to haves. one just needs to juggle ones priorities.

No it's just another tire, it's not illegal, maybe in the UK it is, but not in the US. BS, I've had a tire with a steel rim on the car before, sure the tire was a friends spare, and I was passed by the CHP at least once, and I was not stopped, even the donut uses a steel rim, and the donut is a crappy tire, 50mph maximum on a 14x4.5" steel rim.

My car insurance is the state mandatory minimum, it covers other drivers, and is not full coverage.

In November I will have two 185/60x15 tires on the front axle, the 195/50x15 size is compatible with a 15x5.5" rim, steel or aluminum.

Gee whiz, I didn't know y'all are from Ireland, I thought youse were from Iceland or somewhere.

Wexford, Ireland, how I don't know much about that town on the coast.

I don't object to the size of ones TV, why, it does not bother Me.

There are 85", 75", 65" TV's, I'm not impressed by the bigger ones, 65" in a 4K set is ok.

Ugh, bad news, the City of Adelanto CA has a restriction on what can go on the lot, no manufactured homes over 10yrs old(2007 or newer only), and they can’t be bigger than 700sqft or so, Mine is 810sqft, and 13.5’ wide, the land is cash only, this is a big non starter...

Well the last idea on the land might be fubared, so I'll wait until Cal-Home is available, but this 2bed 2bath, built in 1982 w/1152sqft would do,
It's on Septic, has a 7200sqft lot, and is located in Sunny Hesperia Mobile Home Estates, I lived in that neighborhood until July 2004, so that
would be My old stomping grounds, so to speak, the price is $89,000.00, but with a suitable down payment from CalHome, even that would be ok,
and the place could be fixed up perfectly too. And it would be nearer My relatives to boot. Either 56 or 57 miles, much better.
This place might not be on a concrete foundation, and might need some electrical, heating, and plumbing upgrades, but that's ok.
Sorry no bathroom pics were included. Home sold in as-in condition, been there, done that, sometimes you strike gold, other times lead.

Back to the drawing board :-(
From this latest round of dreams take away a couple of lessons, first find out how much you can borrow to purchase and move to another location (not assumption based guesses, but real hard dollars), second before expending effort and worry check that your current home can be moved to the new location.
Good luck in the hunt.

Thanks, yeah, I'm glad looked before I leaped, saved Me a whole mess of problems.
And yes I will find out how much I can borrow, but first SB-3 has to be approved by the Voters, meanwhile SB-2 offers a downpayment assistance element too, but does not have to be approved by the Voters since SB-2 is not a Constitutional Amendment, it did pass with a 2/3rds vote of the State Legislature, as required by State Law, and by Prop13 of 1978, which is a State Constitutional Amendment in itself, both SB-2 and SB-3 were signed by Gov Brown and Chaptered.

(vii) Accessibility modifications.
(viii) Efforts to acquire and rehabilitate foreclosed or vacant homes.
(ix) Homeownership opportunities, including, but not limited to, downpayment assistance.
(x) Fiscal incentives or matching funds to local agencies that approve new housing for extremely low, very low, low-, and moderate-income households.

Regarding tv viewing distances, I haven't measured, but this is my setup, as viewed from my favorite spot on the living room couch. There's been a tv in that corner for 50 years. Originally, they were console sets on the floor, not on a pedestal, like the current CRT.

Vic, thinking that you must have 4k TV for viewing at that distance is a fallacy.
The viewing distance for a 55" 4K TV is max 7 feet, beyond that you cannot see the enhanced resolution, even with 20/20 vision.
