Well that is not right, My TV has stopped working, one second the TV was on, the next the TV will not respond to the remote anymore, I tried turning the TV on without the remote, no difference, the red led just blinks now, which means I need to get the main power board repaired for either $104.45(1yr warranty) or $113.94(2yr warranty).

And the TV is trying to turn on still, there is no picture and no sound.

Symptoms we can fix:
- TV is completely dead; no power.
- TV has standby light but does not power on.

http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-bn44-00424a-power-supply-led-board-repair-service.htm
But that is why I bought a spare power board, I thought I could limp along, and get the board repaired, and then do a swap,
not enough money chasing too much, strikes once again. If it's not this, then it's clothes or tires or something...

Why a repair service? Cause I don't feel like spending $216.93 on a new power board on ebay. So I have a spare board that needs repair, and can be sent in, and this sucks. Since I would just have to do a power board swap.

I am going to get a 50% increase on a credit card that I make payments on, from $500 to $750, a $250 increase, I've been told that will be on 11/22/2017, but for the moment that is not here.

I unplugged the TV, let the power drain off, then plugged the power cord back in, still no tv, and My back hurts, a month and a half, ugh...

A TV made by gremlins, mocks Me...

The TV only has 2 connections, one to a DVD/VCR, and the other to the UHF TV antenna, there is an ethernet connection, but that is not connected, yet.

Probably like others, I'm a bit confused here Vic. Is this the TV that you held a Gofund me for a year or so ago, but instead of buying a new one, bought a s/h one off Ebay, then found that the picture was bad as the diodes had gone down one side? I thought you had fixed that fault, by buying a s/h card to repair, It seems not. How old is this TV?

Secondly,

And concentrate on getting rid of so many cards, ugh I don't want any more cards, one of which is secured and is very expensive.
Yet now you say

I am going to get a 50% increase on a credit card that I make payments on, from $500 to $750, a $250 increase,
It is difficult to see how you expect to pay these cards off if every time an unexpected bill comes in, you increase the credit limit to pay for it.

This is intended as a positive & supportive reply, to encourage you in your own wish to pay off all these credit cards, so you can attain your long term goal of being able to afford a house loan to move somewhere nicer. But having a wish list of computer parts that takes priority, and paying bills on further credit, is only putting a possible move further away all the time.

You just don't like it when a good thing happens to someone, just bad things it seems, I kept up My end of the card agreement, they are honoring their end, My intention was to replace the old secured card with the new one, but events have gotten in My way, like new clothes(12prs socks, and such cotton bits), a new tire/rim for My car, I still need to buy 4 more tires since the old rubber is getting OLD, this happens, it's called wear and tear, in 2020 I should be able to get New prescription glasses, I can afford the prescription, which costs Me nothing beyond My time, but the frames and lenses are expensive, since that was privatized a few years back in hopes of shifting the cost of glasses to the patient and away from CA state government, making the glasses more expensive due to supply and demand, not a lot of supply drove the cost up due to demand for prescription glasses. In 2018 I will be able to get My teeth fully cleaned of plague, which up until now was reserved for Children only under Denti-Cal cause of the disastrous 2009 state budget cuts, on and after Jan 1st 2018 I can have that delayed dental done, and get a tooth or two replaced, one in My upper jaw would do nicely.

Well the 55" Samsung TV has a circuit board problem, Samsung admitted this a while back, after I bought the TV, that they'd used cheap parts in some of their electronics, and it was what could be bought in this size back then, today a New/Refurbished TV from Walmart would be a 55" TCL 4K tv, that's about $418.64 w/tax and shipping to My house, and that doesn't include a HUANUO Universal Swivel TV stand($42.49, amazon, up to a 60" TV that weighs up to 60lbs in weight) that would allow the TV to sit where My present TV sits at.

Total cost for a New TV from $461.13 from Walmart/Amazon that would be a usable TV for Me...

Try and live on $895.72 a month, then you might find out that some things just can't be done, not without help, the market will not help, that takes money, and money is one thing I'm always in short supply of here...

Since My income should be bigger, but it isn't, I have just enough income to keep the house running, but not enough to make a lot of repairs on the assumption that nothing ever breaks...

I just had to open the rear door and scare off a stray dog that was barking near My place, it's 3:19am here... And I did not like doing that.

Some might ask, why such a large tv? Cause there are 2 places to see the TV at here, one location is almost 25' away here at My "desk" and is fairly comfy, the chair is tearing up the floor here, yet is not uncomfortable to My back, and nearer to the TV on a broken recliner/sofa that can make My back hurt, I have to use a pillow to try and keep My lower back from hurting there, since the recliner/sofa is at least 23 years old, and I'm fairly heavy still. And I'd like to be comfy...

Amazon does sell a 2017 model 55" Samsung 4K TV that with delivery would cost $628.88, if I were able yo have bought it, but I don't have enough room on an Amazon card to do that with, the limit there is $600.00, I'd have to have a credit limit increase for that.

I did find a TCL 55S405 55-Inch 4K Ultra HD Roku Smart LED TV (2017 Model) on Amazon for $399.99.

One of the 970 video cards, the Nvidia 970 came from Amazon.

Yep, feed Me, feed Me they say, Grace loves Me when I do what She asks, She is My friend the viscous predatory beast. Ah yes the gas furnace is now on, that She loves that more than Me, I'm only useful for food and such, yep just over 5% of My income in fact or about $45 a month. Still I love Her, She's here. I at least have Her, My dad had a .32 revolver, My brother said He had a death grip on it, suicide(1993), My brothers fate came cause of cancer @ 61yrs in 2005, He also found My grandpa, healthy as a horse, old age at 82yrs(1969), I was 9yrs old then, grandma passed a year before...

No, I don't want any sort of weapon, firearm or not, I know very well what they can do.

Ok I will put off 2 rear tires from DiscountTire Direct until December, when I will have another $98.00 available,
this month I should have enough to send in the TV power supply board to be repaired.

And mount 2 tires, 1 tire as a spare, and 1 tire as one of the front drive wheels, the car is front wheel drive,
so I will at least have 3 new tires on My car, and the 2 older tires on the rear I can replace next month.

I have a 15x5.5" steel rim for the tire that will hold the spare tire that I need to buy,
and I have 1 tire that will go on the 15x5.5" left front aluminum rim.

Confusing, I hope not. The TV board is boxed, I just need to find out how much the box will cost to ship via USPS to MN.

But before I ship the box I have to pay $94.95 to ShopJimmy around November 1st,
then they will email Me a label that I can print out,
the $94.95 includes a 180 day warranty and shipping back to My location.

I'm amazed at the low prices on big tv's you've quoted. My main tv is a 27 inch Sony CRT that cost over $1,000, back in 2005. The wide screens on today's sets are really too big for my tv's spot, and it's good to know the prices are lower, but I'll keep my CRT going until it decides to give up the ghost.

Me too. I have a 35" that I thought was huge when I got it. The cost was close to a grand. I don't think I would want anything as large as Vic's. If I want a larger picture I just use my tablet on my lap.

Yeah well I had a 27" TV, I took the top of the stand off, and now the lower 2/3rds of the Gusdorf cabinet works for a 50 lb tv, earthquakes don't disturb the TV either.

I found out how much the psu board will cost to mail to Burnsville MN, that's $11.70 by Priority Mail, $11.40 by Parcel Select, $11.70 it is in November.

Now both arms hurt, My right from OA, and the Left from the shot, I'm sleepy, at least Grace is wide eyed and bushy tailed.

The Gusdorf stand could hold a 100lb TV at one time.

$94.95+$11.70=$106.65, should be My total cost, when I get the board back, I will try and get some help to install the board, lots of screws, and the TV is near 50lbs.

I've seen TV's bigger than 65", but 55" is ok for Me, My car could maybe transport a 55" home, a 65" might also fit, but it's larger, and I'm tired.
And I'm zonked out, I'm glad I made it home, intact.
I'm not sure how I'm going to do this, but My head is fuzzy, math is not working right now.
Oh I have an idea, but it'll wait, no choice.

I think I've got the November billing figured out, I noticed ShopJimmy accepts Paypal, if that is what I think it is, My problem is solved, otherwise I'm going to need another $50.00, and My relatives can't help out(I was told they couldn't help, though I didn't ask), I should also be able to buy a tire to be a spare tire and use the 185/60x15 Sentury tire I bought last month on the left from rim, the steel rim will use the 195/50x15 Westlake tire and be the full sized spare.

The $300 was probably all My sister in law could do last month.

Another possible cause of your apparent rambling posts Vic is that you been consuming too many bottles of diet mountain dew which has lead to dehydration. I know you are trying to get an x-box for nothing, drinking large amounts of diet drinks can have that unpleasant side effect. So drink plenty of water for the next couple days to flush your system out.

Thank you Rob Smith, I will do that. Especially at night here.

@ Chris: I agree another credit card or even a credit line I don't want.

Shocking that I agree with someone.

The new TV's were an example, and until I'm ready, that's all they'll be. And window shopping costs nothing,

I called ShopJimmy today and I found out a piece of good news:

The email is a shipping label via FedEx, I just have to print it out, and attach the label to the box,
and so I save $11.70 on shipping the box, and then I only have to pay $94.95 total.

My 20" Samsung TV, which is also the monitor of my Windows 10 PC, sits on the top of my old Philips TV, which is above a cabinet containing vinyl disks and other old stuff. So to use it as a monitor I have to stand upright, which is healthier than sitting, they say. To watch some TV news I sit on a chair about 3 meters away, so I have to look up at it. The TV is a Samsung which is also connected via an Ethernet cable to a Sky decoder and can print via WiFi to a HP Envy Printer, since it is too far from the printer to use a cable. My latest Samsung Gear watch is also connected via WiFi to a modem and gives me meteo forecasts.

My front room is 13'1"x12'8" in size, 12'8" is the inside width of My home, the outside width of My home is 13'6". From the TV to where My desk is at is about 20', the screen is smaller the farther one is from the tv or even from a movie screen, this is a fact.

I have trouble seeing, so the 55" tv accommodates My eyesight better, both My eyes are blurry w/o glasses and a smaller size is not sharp enough for My eyes, but then I have 20/40 and 20/50 vision and I have problems seeing when it's dark, which is why I need a flashlight and a bright light on at the same time, and this in the Daytime too, to see in a PC case to work on screws, cables, and other small items, 2020 will be good, as then I can get a new pair of costly prescription glasses, right now or in 2009 I could afford the prescription, but not the frames or the lenses, the prescription is paid for by Medi-Cal, the frames and lenses come out of My pocket and are not cheap or inexpensive by any means if one can not afford the glasses, like with non prescription drugs, one has to buy an item out of pocket, don't have the money? Too bad. Some people in 2009 said privatizing Lenses and Frames would be affordable by those who get Vision-Cal, for a bit it was, then supply and demand kicked in, there wasn't enough supply for the demand, so the market raised prices on lenses and frames, and so here is where My glasses sit, I'm still waiting.

At least in 2018 I can get My teeth worked on thanks to a Full Restoration of Adult Denti-Cal by the CA State Legislature, and in 2020 to Vision-Cal all but funding is in place for a Full Restoration of Adult Vision-Cal. The Full Restoration is undoing the horrific 2009 cuts to the State Budget.
