Hello,
I have running boinc for ages, but something has become corrupted.
I installed the boinc from the Linux-mageia repo.
Now it does not seem to connect to the server. The data is all there , but gets erroe messages.

The BOINC from the distro's repository is usually installed as a package and built with the libraries that are used in that distro. The version you have is apparently the Berkeley installer, since it's installed in your home directory instead of the etc/boinc-client and /var/lib/boinc-client/ directories, and it doesn't know most of the libraries needed.

Of course the one thing you do need to do is make sure that the required libraries are installed on your system.
You can find a list of the required libraries here: https://www.rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/mageia/6/i586/media/core/release/boinc-client-7.2.42-10.mga6.i586.html

You can also check the binaries which libraries they require and if these are installed on your system:
ldd boinc-client
ldd boinccmd
ldd boinc-manager
