I know that the 'rules' for admission to the iOS App Store are witheringly strict, and have shut out a great many terrific and useful apps from the iPhone/iPad community. I have a 6s and three iPads, in addition to the two MBPs, a MacBook, and and iMac (plus a surprisingly productive older Android tablet) crunching away for Seti@Home (no other BOINC projects, I am content to give all my attention to this search). Before my current account, I had an anemic old G4 tower and even a G3 laptop working the numbers, from 6/00 to early 2013. I would really love to add my iOS devices to the mix.
Is it an Apple issue, or are there a shortage of porters/developers qualified to create an iOS version? My own coding skills are extremely rudimentary, so I doubt I could be much help with the actual coding, debugging, and so forth. Perhaps this is a long settled thread and everyone else has moved on, accepting that Apple makes it very difficult to do certain things with their (our?) devices.
On the last note, if I were to jailbreak my phone and tabs, is their a Cydia/Yalu app for BOINC? I have long resisted (since iOS 5) jailbreaking, given the headaches it can cause. But I would be willing to do it for SAH. Comments and advice warmly welcomed. Thanks.

It is predominantly an Apple issue due to their policy being against the way BOINC functions by downloading and running other applications.
