And this distinction is important because???? Because, under the reasons 45 has stated for his position on immigrants, then this family is not one that would be allowed into the US and therefore would be deported. |

And this distinction is important because???? Yes. Donald did not perform his mandatory military service as well. Heel spurs. Give me a break. Most of the soldiers then and even more today don't walk so much! |

I did more hill humping on Pendleton than you can imagine. You would not last the day with a heel spur. har Marines had to do a monitory 3 miles in 25 some minutes once a year in my day. Now whether Trump's is real is up for debate. har SF ... ![]() |

I did more hill humping on Pendleton than you can imagine. You would not last the day with a heel spur. har Trump serving in the US Marines. LOL. There are so many other military units that you can serve. No feet needed:) OK. I was enlisted to the Signal Corps and had to pass the mandatory test in Boot Camp to walk 40 km in full military outfit. Machine gun and steel helmet included. ![]() Boy did I have blisters after that! And it was a completely useless training since in the war games later we didn't have to walk like that anymore. |

I did more hill humping on Pendleton than you can imagine. You would not last the day with a heel spur. har Didn't stop him doing football and other sports in college. UK Army tests are; Monthly - 1.5 miles (2.4km) as a squad in 15mins - 1 min break - then return the 1.5 miles individually, times vary with age, but ~10 mins for under 30's, over 40's 15 mins. That's without kit but in boots on level(ish) ground. Yearly - 8 miles cross country in 2 hours carrying kit and weapon SA80 plus short run where you go over 6 ft wall, jump 10 ft ditch and run over 6 inch wide balance beam, followed by 100m carry of comrade, with all his kit, He then carries you. Hint it is best to pull rank and go first, you can get winded being carried over someones shoulder. Para's, Marines and special forces (SAS & SBS) have harder tests. |

Re: Trump as Germain American But if you are descent from many countries? I am:) Well a long time ago. My documented German blood is from the late 1500. https://sok.riksarkivet.se/Sbl/Presentation.aspx?id=14470 And I has also Wallonian blood from Belgium. My aunt who lives in Toronto has a very particular nose that many people have in Wallonia:) |

My ancestors flatly rejected and expelled their country of origin, twice, once in1776 and again in 1812. We decided at that time that we (along with several other lines of heritage) were AMERICANS. PERIOD. Many of the problems here today result from our having forgotten that............. IMHO ![]() "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

Even point out their ancestral Nation on a map.Why should they? They're Americans. Could you be suggesting that "they" put America 2nd over their ancestral nation? |

ROFLMFAO. As a retired history teacher, can you state clearly (in your own words of course), why America is so divided & why after 40 years, the country hasn't recovered from Vietnam? Had Nixon not gone after Daniel Ellsberg, Watergate might never have happened. If that occurred, would the "Orange One" now be in the White House? How's that for an idea from the "Arena of Ideas". |

OK. I am unlocking this, but to be fair it has once again turned into the oh so predictable slanging match, that in the end seems to go nowhere. Lets just see if perhaps posters here could discuss the pros and cons of the 45th POTUS. |

Is Trump making mistakes similar to previous presidents? Excerpt from Oval Office tapes June 14 1971: "Rumsfeld was making this point this morning... To the ordinary guy, all this is a bunch of gobbledygook. But out of the gobbledygook comes a very clear thing.... You can't trust the government; you can't believe what they say; and you can't rely on their judgment; and the -- the implicit infallibility of presidents, which has been an accepted thing in America, is badly hurt by this, because It shows that people do things the president wants to do even though it's wrong, and the president can be wrong." Bob Haldeman talking to Richard Nixon. |
