The question about building in flood plains is which level of flooding do you stop the building? The 1000 years, 500 years, 100 years, etc. With each lower level, the amount of insurance coverage needed should be increased, eventually, you'll get to a point where it will become too expensive to build and the urban sprawl will be limited. You assume insurance must be purchased. It isn't a requirement, hence the stupidity. Those numbers don't actually mean what the numbers say, for the 100 years it means 1 in 4 chance over the period of a 30 year mortgage, without global warming effects. |

The crap idea that a mostly Democrat or a mostly Republican idea is not for the good of the country. Your qualifying is also telling. Too bad for those Republicans that live in mostly Democratic areas, eh? Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

100% Agree with Ryan. I am happy that this has high-level support as well. You can encourage it by supporting the passage of the DREAM Act which will formalize it into law. The ACLU has set up a page where you can automatically call your senator. The human impact of Trump canceling DACA and 800,000 young people losing their legal status would be devastating. Every one of them would lose their work authorization and be at risk for deportation. |

Personally, I would like Trump to rescind the Executive order because I see it as an overreach of Presidential authority. If Congress wants to keep the intent of the order, then they should pass legislation modifying the current law. ... and still I fear, and still I dare not laugh at the Mad Man! Find it interesting that "A Total Ban on Muslims" is a valid executive order, but "DACA" is an overreach of Presidential authority. |

Totally. It is why Trump won. He did a hostile takeover of the Republican Party nomination, then campaigned on among other things a 'drain the swamp' motif aimed at the forgotten working class. The Democrat Party had its chance. They had Sanders campaigning on a very similar motif. Populists the both of them (Trump and Sanders). We can debate which one may or may not actually care about the Workers until the cows come home, but it doesn't really matter. The Democrats chose to nominate the 'establishment' (that is Yet another Swamp creature) H. Clinton, instead of going with the Populist Sanders. If the Democrats had chosen to nominate the Populist/Socialist Sanders, they would have won 2016. But... no. Trump won because Trump, unlike Clinton, was not 'just another Swamp thing'. So, why do we have Trump in the White House? It is the fault of all of you Clinton supporters. The Swamp-hating Working-Class Democrats (for the most part Left of Center), unless they were Yellow Dog Democrats, had nowhere to go but Trump. https://youtu.be/iY57ErBkFFE #Texit Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016. Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power. |

Agree the 6 month delay will be for Congress to enact a law to replace a Royal Fiat. I applaud the President for telling the elected law enacting bodies of Government to 'defecate or vacate the facilities' ......do the job you were elected to do. If we are to be a rule of law country the residents need to be able to respect the law. The time is long overdue to enact a Compassionate but Strict immigration reform bill. We need to make room for the DACA protected, unless guilty of major crimes or gang members, but do so by statutory enactment, not an easily reversed Executive Order designed to pander. A place must be reserved for those fleeing persecution but strictly screened for validity and need. At the same time standards similar to those imposed by Canada, Australia and other Democratic nations to insure those allowed in are not and do not become social burdens (economically or philosophically). I do not believe the President wants to deport any of the 'Dreamers' but instead wants them to have a permanent legal status as should everyone. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

Find it interesting that "A Total Ban on Muslims" is a valid executive order, "DACA" is an overreach because it attempts to bypass current existing law in order to curry favor with a segment of the voting population. "A Total Ban" would be valid because it goes to the two original powers given to the President by the framers of the Constitution. Those powers are 1) negotiate treaties with foreign governments, and 2) protect the borders of the States. ... and still I fear, and still I dare not laugh at the Mad Man! Find it interesting that "A Total Ban on Muslims" is a valid executive order, 1) negotiate treaties with foreign governments, with advice and consent of the Senate. So an overreach! |

Please cite the exact executive order that states "A Total Ban on Muslims" , for those of us less well informed........... Meet Trump the new Boss. Meet the new Swamp. Same as the old Boss. Same as the old Swamp. New Swamp reminded new Boss they and he get rich dealing with, say, Saudi Arabia. The whole Saudi Arabia thing, that's one thing Alex Jones gets right. There are .. gasp, neo-Progressives that are in agreement with Jones on this, So, of course, Trump scaled back his promise. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

Please cite the exact executive order that states "A Total Ban on Muslims" , for those of us less well informed........... Same logic is going to apply to that draft letter Mueller has. And here I thought tRump was a business man and knew enough to never reduce to writing any real thoughts or reasons on why you are firing someone. |

First Harvey, next Irma. Both impacting red states. Coincidence? Divine retribution? Unfortunately, it's just a matter of geography. ... and still I fear, and still I dare not laugh at the Mad Man! Queen - The Prophet's Song |

First Harvey, next Irma. Both impacting red states. Coincidence? Divine retribution? And Houston not taking preventative measures which would have increased the cost of economic growth. Now the tax payers of the country get to pay for the short sighted greed. Building on a floodplain is insanity and doing nothing about it is quite Darwinian. |
