There are many people on our forums and in our community who we wish to speak about or to when they are unwell or off line or off the grid for one reason or another

Yes lets raise them (and make them sticky for a while) but let's also just let them be our best of next to souls.

We can't always tell what paths people take. We try but being human is a special thing. It means not always knowing the fantastic that we will be.

(I too think this thread should become part of our general community and not so sticky anymore. It now belongs to all or any of us.)

That is such a shame to learn of, even though it was somewhat expected. Such a thoroughly decent, kind-hearted and gifted man. My heartfelt condolences to his family, especially Lady Joanne (as Richard called her, many times on these boards). Perhaps condolences for ourselves, too.

I am very much saddened to hear of Richard's passing.
He was a good friend to any and all that he communicated with here on Seti.
I shall miss him. But at least he is at peace now.

Joanne added a little more information on Richards, FB page.

"This is Joanne Lubrich, using richards phone one last time. Richard passed away this afternoon, due to congestive heart failure. thank you all for your prayers. He is in heaven now. I am adding on to this post from earlier as i was too grief stricken then.
Richard was my best friend and it will take a long time to get over this. He moved here to nc in 2003 and came to live with. His motivation in life was to help me. my husband, his brother died in 2002 and his job was to help me not be depressed. there were three key people i will always be grateful for entering my life. Richard, Kayla Smith Jeffrey, and my sister.
For many years our morning ritual was to drink coffee, smoke and look at what his facebook friends had to say on his big computer screen. You all became a part of my life too. it was a very comforting way to start our day. every saturday we would go out and take photographs. I love you all and thank you so much for your condolences. joanne"

My own post in response:
"Richard was well loved by his friends at the Seti@home community. Both on my behalf and on behalf of so many other, our deepest and sincere condolences. He was a good and trust friend and will be missed. Rest in Peace Dr.Seti."
