I have always wonder why so many people thinks that "free information" is something that you can get without a cost.

Because so many companies give it away for free (until they realise that they can't make any money from the ads).

Yes. In some sense you could call it trolling.
Sooner or later there are people that bite.

I suspect it will last for a l-o-n-g time as they will see an increase in their income stream, a reduction in their expenditure due to needing less disc space, lower data transfer charges all due to the reduction in the number of free accounts.

Whilst I am fairly sure all my pics on PB are saved elsewhere I decided to download my folders as a precaution.

Some worked first time others took 4 or 5 attempts.

As I had over 30 folders and over 1200 pictures it has taken a while!!

Well apparently they didn't get to me for nearly a week so I suppose that either your turn will come, or you have somehow slipped through the net!

In which case you are lucky, I have been posting pictures to several forums for many years now over 1200 pictures, all have gone.

Some I could replace but I just do not have that sort of time.

If they really wanted to convert their free customers to paying ones, this was not the way to go about it!!

I agree. It's shockingly bad manners the method they've chosen. I would think a major decision like this would be carefully thought out by a team of people at the company, but it's as if one person in charge just said the heck with it, and pulled the trigger.

Well, at the moment, no pic in the forums.
But if I right-click on the broken picture button and hit 'view image', it goes to Pb and I see the sunset picture. At least just now, I did.

Interestingly enough, I tried the same thing about 10 minutes ago and instead of the picture, I got the upgrade banner.
