I have a video card but Boinc doesn't see it. All it sees is:

GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 350 @ 2.27GHz [Family 6 Model 37 Stepping 2]
(4 processors) --- Linux 4.8.0-54-generic

Note this is an ASUS lappy from 2009 that I recently updated to run on Ubuntu.

Any tips to make it know to Boinc?

Which GPU do you have? Most of the Standard Laptop GPUs from that era wouldn't be much better than just running the CPU by itself. If it's one of the old ATI GPUs anything newer than Kernel 3.13 won't work for SETI. Starting with around 4.8 you have to use the Open Source driver with the old ATI GPUs and the OpenCL part doesn't work with SETI. I've never been able to get anything newer than Ubuntu 14.04.1 to work with my 2010 ATI cards. It's similar with the nVidia drivers, the drivers for GPUs that old don't support the current OpenCL App. The old CUDA 4.2 App might work, but it would be very slow.

I think you nailed it - thanks. Doesn't sound like I can do much about it then. It's just one of 3 machines I am running, the other 2 being Macs and super fast.
