The people have spoken out loudly against those moronic religious wackos in Vermont.

Vermont overwhelmingly votes to protect reproductive autonomy, including abortion

I'm shocked to find out that this crap goes on down under in certain hospitals and it must be stopped.

There’s a little-known religious code governing some public hospitals — but its implications are far-reaching.

...That hospital is, on the surface, an ordinary public hospital in a big city. But like 20 other public hospitals around the country, it runs by a Catholic code of ethics.

This code, which applies to both public and private hospitals, advises against contraception, pregnancy termination, IVF, voluntary-assisted dying, and even the provision of abortion medication to rape victims....
We need a good sanitising purge in some of our public hospitals here.

Where does this madness end?

Advocates warily eye legal challenge to abortion pills.

Reproductive rights advocates are on edge over a lawsuit to revoke the decades-old Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of mifepristone, which, if successful, would end legal access to abortion pills nationwide.

Advocates and legal experts say the suit has no merit, but they fear conservative courts will think otherwise.....

....But the lawsuit was strategically filed in district court in Amarillo, where Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk presides over all new cases.

Prior to being appointed by former President Trump in 2017, Kacsmaryk was deputy general counsel at the First Liberty Institute, a Christian legal advocacy group.

In that role he helped businesses fight against contraceptive mandates and represented an Oregon bakery that refused to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding.

Should Kacsmaryk prove to be sympathetic to ADF’s arguments, the government would likely appeal. The case would go to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, which has jurisdiction over Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Abortion has been banned in all three of those states.

How does this fit in amongst all the strange contradictions highlighted by this thread?...

Gene-edited {genetically modified} hens may end cull of billions of chicks
wrote:
... gene edited DNA into the Golda hens that can stop the development of any male embryos in eggs that they lay. The DNA is activated when the eggs are exposed to blue light for several hours.

Female chick embryos are unaffected by the blue light and develop normally...

... "Farmers will get the same chicks they get today and consumers will get exactly the same eggs they get today," he said. "The only minor difference in the production process is that the eggs will be exposed to blue light."...

We now have the genetic technology.

Note that humans use the same genetic machinery...

Religions go to war.

Missouri's abortion ban declares 'Almighty God is the author of life.' Faith leaders beg to differ in new suit.

Thirteen faith leaders from various denominations are suing the state of Missouri over an abortion ban that completely outlaws abortion with limited exceptions — based on the premise that "Almighty God is the author of life."

The clergy, who come from denominations of Christianity, Unitarian Universalism, and Judaism, said the abortion ban violates their religious freedom and subjects them to "the religious dictates of others."

"In a years-long crusade against abortion access, state officials have weaponized their religious beliefs to control the bodies and deny the autonomy of women and all who can become pregnant, jeopardizing their health, lives, and futures," the lawsuit says. "Many people of faith support abortion access not despite, but because of, their religion."

There's a long history of religious support for abortion rights, according to a 2022 report by The Law, Rights, and Religion Project. Some traditions, including the Presbyterian Church, Reform and Conservative Judaism, and the United Church of Christ, explicitly support the right to an abortion....

Did SCOTUS missed something?

Federal judge says constitutional right to abortion may still exist, despite Dobbs

...Kollar-Kotelly noted that there is some legal scholarship suggesting that the Thirteenth Amendment — which was ratified at the end of the Civil War and sought to ban slavery and “involuntary servitude” — provides just such a right. She is asking the parties in the criminal case, which involves charges of blocking access to abortion clinics, to present arguments by mid-March....

Americans’ Dissatisfaction With Abortion Policies At Record High, Poll Finds As Lawmakers Consider Watering Down Bans.

More than two-thirds of Americans are dissatisfied with the country’s abortion laws in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, a new Gallup poll finds, with nearly half wanting policies to be less strict, as the U.S. continues to grapple with how to handle abortion and GOP lawmakers revisit state bans with new proposals to add exemptions.

The poll found 69% of U.S. adults are dissatisfied with the country’s abortion policies, a record high since Gallup started polling on the question in 2001.

A 46% plurality think the country’s laws should be less strict, marking a 16% jump from January 2022, when only 30% said the same.

Only 15% think the laws should be more strict, and 26% are satisfied with how the laws are now.

A 74% majority of Democrats want less stringent laws (up from 43% in 2022), along with 44% of Independents (up from 31%).

Only 17% of Republicans (up from 14% last year) want less harsh laws, while 39% are satisfied with the policies as they are.

Half of women (50%) think the country’s laws should be less strict, up from 32% in 2022, along with 41% of men, versus 28% in 2022....

Deadly Ouch!

Five women sue Texas over abortion access
wrote:
Five women who say they were denied abortions in Texas despite facing life-threatening health risks have sued the state over its abortion ban.

Texas bars abortions except for medical emergencies, with doctors facing punishment of up to 99 years in jail.

According to the lawsuit, doctors are refusing the procedure even in extreme cases out of fear of prosecution...

... "It is now dangerous to be pregnant in Texas,"...

... the plaintiffs - two pregnant - shared harrowing stories of their previous, lost pregnancies.

According to the legal action, all were told that their foetuses would not survive, but were not given the option of an abortion, which they described as "standard medical procedure" throughout the country and in the state before Texas' ban came into effect...

... For three days, trapped in a "bizarre and avoidable hell", Ms Zurawski was forced to wait until her body entered [a life threatening] sepsis - also known as blood poisoning - [before] doctors were allowed to perform an abortion...

Only in the USA?...

Stay safe folks!

Not all, just the conservative evangelical Christians and Catholics 1's mostly.

Can outlawing abortion infringe on religious liberties?

Considering that Christianity is based on the teachings of Jesus, who was always a Jew, wouldn't it be logical that the Jewish beliefs about abortion should be followed by Christians as the New Testament contains no comments to opose that view.
